What is the job role?

We are looking for someone to oversee and coordinate new projects that are currently being piloted within the Skills and Employment Team supporting residents and our culturally diverse communities.

The post holder will be required to lead, co-ordinate and facilitate the projects and able to analyse, understand and interpret data, as well as covering a range of duties directed by the Project Lead. Programme Specifics:

• This apprenticeship is typically 18 months in duration.
• Starting salary of £18,000 which will increase throughout the duration of the programme.
• The qualification you gain will be a Level 4 Associate Project Manager.
• Our chosen training provider Learning Skills Partnership will support you in obtaining your qualification.
• You will work in an Agile model from both our office in Warwick location. You will be expected to travel to other client and telent locations.

We are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to join one of our clients on a permanent basis.

The company is a worldwide designer and manufacturer of specialist engineering equipment used in a wide range of applications including oil and gas, power generation and petrochemical and this is an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly expanding and successful organisation.

Based in Warwick, but with a requirement to attend client’s premises and sites as and when required, the role will involve ensuring the completion of Projects within budget, on time and to an acceptable level of quality, while conforming to company policies and procedures.

The main duties will include:-

• Reporting to the Head of Tech/Ops on all aspects of project progress and cost control.
• Establishing key customer contacts, developing and maintaining a good working relationship.
• Obtaining customer/materials/process sign off.
• Clarifying terms and conditions of contract and scope of supply.
• Ensuring Project Teams are recruited and trained
• Defining and communicating to the Project Team, their roles and responsibilities, their available hours to perform their tasks and the available budgets for their work packages.
• Directing and motivating the Project Team to fulfil their tasks.
• Developing, monitoring and managing the detailed project timing plan.
• Ensuring all milestone target dates are met.
• Validating project estimates and updating as necessary to provide basis for cost control.
• Preparing and monitoring/updating project cash flow plans.
• Providing monthly updates highlighting movements in outlook, cost to complete and margin. Giving detailed presentations of projects commercial positions at Monthly Project Review Meetings. Provide PoC forecasts for each quarter and updating regularly. Where applicable, reviewing and confirming content of monthly Project Cockpit Charts.
• Ensuring timely handovers to Service to create and manage the warranty project.
• Identifying and managing risks and realise opportunities in line with latest risk and opportunity template.
• Providing information to Sales/Proposals to enable quotations to be prepared for scope changes.
• Chair regular project meetings with client at frequency agreed within External Kick-Off and internally with Project Team on weekly basis and issue relevant minutes.
The successful applicant will have a proven track record in manging large scale installation projects and will hold a relevant recognised engineering and/or project management qualification

Candidates will ideally be experienced with a range of fluid handling systems (typically building utility systems, and/or industrial chemical delivery systems) including pipework distribution, storage and conditioning facilities (e.g. temperature control/agitation), pumps, pipeline components (to fulfil isolation, regulation, filtration, safety, drainage, venting requirements etc).

In addition experience in some, if not all of the following are required:-

• Planning ability - to manage, implement, validate and produce timing plans for project work.
• Management of project cost control.
• High degree of computer literacy – knowledge of Microsoft PC applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Exchange, Project etc).
• Ability to prioritise work and be a good time manager.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Team leader with experience of managing multi discipline teams.
• Ability to manage the quality aspects of a project.
• Understanding of Health and Safety Legislation.
• Good problem solving ability – able to identify the root causes of problems, apply solutions and check solution has worked all in a timely manner.
