As Digital Project Manager you will be responsible for successfully delivering IT projects and work packages, including supporting pre-sales, analysis, cross functional development as well as systems integration. You will own the delivery of the IT solution and ultimately be responsible for the delivery to time, cost, and quality of the IT solution. You will oversee all internal delivery teams as well as any external partners/suppliers delivering as part of the IT project.
You will work in conjunction with the Business Unit (BU) Delivery Partner and Solution Architects to develop solutions that require delivery as part of BU IT roadmaps and will maintain strong working relationships with other stakeholders across Serco to ensure compliance.
Your main responsibilities:
- Ensure that IT deliverables are to the required standard of quality, within the constraints of time, cost and quality as defined as part of IT Project Initiation Document (PID)
- Responsible for overall progress and use of resources, and initiation of corrective action where required
- Compliance with all PMO Governance processes and procedures, e.g. Stage Gate Reviews, status reporting, budgets, lessons learned, etc.
- Responsible for managing budgets, providing accurate financial trackers/workbooks in line with the Serco financial cycle
- Manage delivery partners/suppliers to ensure they deliver in accordance with the contract (SLA’s)
- Responsible for planning Service Acceptance and working with Operations team to ensure ready-for-service is achieved
- Ensure working and current documentation is stored in a location that’s accessible by team members during the project (e.g. SharePoint)
- Support project boards as required by the business, chairing delivery team meetings (or Scrums) as required.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- You will have significant experience of IT project management, ideally within a government setting
- Strong experience in dealing with senior business users, determining delivery scope and priorities as well as resolving issues
- Skills and knowledge acquired through Development, Technical Design, or Technical Project Management.
- Good understanding and knowledge of Project Management, Change Management
- Proven history and track record of completing quality IT projects on time, as well as a proven track record in coaching and mentoring others to success
- Proven ability to plan IT projects, building delivery backlogs, progress monitoring including budget control and milestone control, as well as issue and risk management
- Experience managing teams delivering IT projects and involving multiple software application integrators
- Must be willing to undergo BPSS security clearance. In some cases, SC may be required Current Prince 2 Practitioner (or equivalent, e.g. APM) certification
