What Will You Be Doing?

You'll work as part of a two-person crew, handling tasks like breaking up ground and replacing or installing digital units across the local area, with occasional travel further afield as needed. Your new firm

Our client, a collaborative and nurturing international firm, is looking for a Property & Casualty Claims Handler to join their vibrant and growing Insurance Group in Bristol. The firm has a well-established client base, acting for the vast majority of household and commercial property Insurers in the market, as well as some large insureds and cover holders. The team handles a wide variety of claims arising out of property damage, including (amongst other things) fire, water, subsidence, construction and impact damage.

This role is based in our client's Bristol office, however you will be able to work remotely from home for part of the week if desired, as the firm operates a hybrid working policy.

Your new role
The role largely involves running a case load of subrogated recovery matters on behalf of a range of insurers. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to run a property recovery claim from first instruction, through the pre-action stage and into proceedings when necessary. A familiarity with Civil Procedure Rules is therefore necessary.

The work will be varied, interesting and challenging and where you show you can run the cases successfully, you will be given autonomy to stamp your own mark on the files; there will be the opportunity to work on matters varying in value from £10,000 all the way up to millions of pounds. You will also get involved with business development and client initiatives, where appropriate.

In addition, you can expect to:

Manage a large caseload of Property Insurance claims.

What you'll need to succeed

Gowing Law Solicitors are currently looking for a Property Assessor/Team Leader to join our expanding Housing Disrepair team.

We are seeking a Full Time Property assessor to work within a team environment visiting potential client’s properties. The candidate must be hardworking and keen to help our clients with a positive attitude.

You will be working within the housing disrepair team under an area manager. Although you will be working within a specific geographical area close to you, as an organisation, we work nationally we are aiming to grow rapidly in the next 12 months.

Based from home you will be expected to cover a designated area to undertake property surveys. After the initial visit you will be required to upload the report and photographs onto a dedicated customer management system. Although training is given, basic computer skills would be an advantage.

This role can either be on a self-employed basis or on a fixed-term basis.

It is not necessary to have experience within the property or building trade to be able to do this role as full training will be provided.
