The MPGS provides professional soldiers to meet armed security requirements at Royal Navy, Army, RAF and other MOD bases across the UK Mainland. Our primary role is to counter the terrorist threat posed to military bases within the UK

Our duties include:

Security incident management - Such as suspicious packages, bomb threats, protests, etc.

Patrolling site perimeters - Taking necessary action to preserve perimeter security.

Service Care Solutions are currently working alongside a proactive local authority, based in Herefordshire, which is in need of a Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join their team. You will be joining a small team of lawyers dealing with a variety of matters, primarily contracts, grants, procurement and company law.

Role: Commercial Contracts Lawyer

Location: Herefordshire, remote!

Rate: £45ph-£50ph umbrella

Contract Length: 3 months ongoing, 37 hours a week

The Role:

• Handle a mixed caseload of subsidy control, company law, contract law and drafting a wide range of contracts including standard build contracts such as JCT or NEC4.
• When required, deputise for more senior members of the team
• Carry out any duties required for the successful running of the contracts and major projects team

The Person:

• A qualified barrister, solicitor or legal executive who is a fellow of CiLEX with an impressive knowledge of contract and company law
• You will be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of subsidy control, company law, contract law and drafting a wide range of contracts including standard build contracts such as JCT or NEC4. This will ideally have been within the public sector.
• Knowledge of Data Protection legislation would be an advantage but not essential.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior HR Advisor (Schools) to join our client's team, offering a professional and high-quality HR service to schools and academies. In this role, you will provide expert advice on a wide range of HR matters, support complex employee relations casework, and lead the development of school-based HR policies and procedures. You will also deliver training sessions to clients on various HR topics.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide expert HR advice to schools and academies, supporting complex employee relations casework.
• Act as an investigating officer on various employment matters and attend formal meetings.
• Lead the development and implementation of school-based HR policies, working closely with Trade Union representatives.
• Design and deliver HR training sessions for school clients.
• Proactively manage and solve complex HR cases including disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence, TUPE, and redundancy.
• Collaborate with school leaders to ensure HR practices align with school-specific legislation.
• Travel throughout Herefordshire to attend on-site school meetings as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience in managing and solving complex HR casework.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and school-specific legislation is beneficial.
• CIPD qualified or equivalent experience.
• Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work autonomously under the guidance of a line manager.
• Own transport required for travel to client sites.

This role is critical in helping schools navigate complex HR issues, ensuring they have the support needed to maintain a positive working environment.

• Provide professional HR advisory services to headteachers, governors, and other clients on a range of HR matters.
• Advise on employment law, terms and conditions, and school-specific HR issues.
• Manage complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, and redundancy matters.
• Support change management processes, including consultation with staff and trade unions.
• Deliver HR training sessions relevant to employment law and school-specific issues.
• Assist schools with TUPE transfers and other HR-related projects.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Evidenced experience in advising on a range of HR issues including disciplinary, grievance, and TUPE.
• Experience working with schools in an HR capacity and understanding of relevant pay and conditions documents (Green Book, Burgundy Book, School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document).
• CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships.
• Flexibility to travel to customer locations and willingness to work occasional evenings.
