Job Opportunity: Dedicated Primary Teacher & Assistant SENCO
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Primary Teacher and Assistant SENCO to join our team at an independent specialist school dedicated to providing high-quality, therapeutic, and child-centred education for students aged 11 to 17 years.
Our students come from a variety of backgrounds and face Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, often alongside other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) such as Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties. As a trauma and attachment-informed organisation, we offer extensive therapeutic training and support to all our staff.
Central to this role is the ability to build nurturing, professional relationships and motivate students, knowing that every child is unique. The position involves a balanced schedule, with three days dedicated to teaching and two days focused on SENCO duties. You will play a key role in ensuring that each child receives the best possible education and support, tailored to their individual needs and aspirations.
Our teachers are more than subject experts; they inspire curiosity, foster engagement, and make learning meaningful for our students. You'll create dynamic, exciting lessons that challenge and empower students, whether they are mastering the basics or pursuing a particular talent or interest.
Our students require educators who can manage complex behaviours with patience, consistency, and a non-judgmental approach. We value teachers who actively contribute to decision-making, curriculum development, and extra-curricular activities, bringing their own interests and passions to the school environment.
