We are seeking an exceptional and engaging individual to join us as Surveying & Engineering Team Lead.
This is a management position within the inhouse technical services team that will directly line manage qualified Building Surveyors and Electrical Engineers.

Thurrock Council owns and manages a housing portfolio of approximately 10,000 residential properties of which is spread across all parts of the Thurrock borough in Essex. The portfolio varies significantly regarding size and build type, meaning we have a number of different archetypes including high, low-rise blocks of flats, sheltered housing residential complexes as well as a large number of street properties.

Therefore, this opportunity presents a unique challenge for a self-driven and motivated individual who has the vision and skills to help drive service improvements in maintaining, repairing, and improving the housing portfolio.

In addition, the successful candidate should have a keen interest in innovative renewable energy solutions, as a key aspect of the role will be to champion the Council's current and future sustainable/renewable energy development programmes.

This will include identifying suitable /adaptable energy services, commissioning and managing project feasibility and completing project grant or fund sourcing where applicable.

• Develops and modifies process formulations, methods and controls to meet quality standards.

GlobalFoundries in Essex, VT is seeking a first shift (M-F, 7am-330pm) Deionized / Ultrapure Water + Chemical System Maintenance and Operations Staff Technician to work in the facilities organization reporting to Dustin Nuhfer.  For this 200mm Semiconductor manufacturing facility, the equipment includes reverse osmosis, ion exchange resin, filtration, chemical supply systems, chemical blending units, and other manufacturing support systems. This position is fully on site, and requires some rotating holiday / weekend coverage. The ideal candidate will possess some demonstrated leadership / supervisory experience.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Ensure proper system operation by performing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Respond to and troubleshoot system alarms and controls. 
• Perform mechanical field work on filters, resin vessels, UV lights, pumps, valves, tanks, tubing, piping, and controls.
• Lead and coordinate improvement projects to increase safety, continuous operations, and organizational capability.

Ensure that the Trust’s maintenance management systems reflect good practice in accordance with H&S legislation and HTM’s.

Ensure that the Trust’s mechanical systems asset register is maintained and all such assets are compliant with statutory and HTM requirements.
Perform the role of Authorised Person (AP) for the Trust’s mechanical services and pressure systems and arrange and monitor specialist contracts to provide maintenance and validation of mechanical plant and systems.

Participate in the Trusts out of hours on-call engineering service.
The responsibilities also include working with and supervising operational staff as well as contractors and also acting as Authorised Person for various specialties ensuring that current legislation, regulations and safe systems of work are adhered to.

You should be qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline and have experience in building services systems. Health Service experience is desirable, it is not considered essential.

This position will require you to participate in out of hours working.
