About the role
The Head of Engineering is responsible for all aspects of engineering performance in the Operating Company. Leading engineering teams across multiple locations, covering Essex & the Eastern Counties they will foster a customer-centric culture while ensuring compliance with statutory, legal, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborating with the Operational teams, the Head of Engineering will drive the ongoing development of Engineering Excellence to achieve higher levels of customer satisfaction. They will also adhere to and implement the divisional governance framework established by the Head of Engineering Excellence, ensuring that standard operational policies and procedures are followed within the Local Business Unit (LBU).
About you
-Do you hold a degree in Engineering or a related field (not essential)?
-Must have a strong track record as a credible leader in the service sector
-Extensive experience working in Bus and coach/ HGV as an engineering manager is advantageous
-Must be willing to obtain or work towards Transport Manager CPC Certification
-Must be able to demonstrate delivery of major change or sustained improvement in an engineering environment
-Union influence experience is advantageous
-Extensive knowledge of all relevant legislations including PSV Operator License Compliance, with a good awareness of and practical experience of lean tools and techniques is ideal.
