We’re seeking an ambitious and experience Engineering Manager to join us in Manchester!
The purpose of an Engineering Manager at Muller is to lead the Blow Moulding Engineering team to deliver a best in class Engineering and Technical service, whilst supporting the safe delivery and improvement within manufacturing. As Engineering Manager you will provide effective leadership with strategic implementation of a cost effective plant/equipment reliability, covering statutory and mandatory compliance.
Engineering Manager Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure Engineering team operate fully within Health & Safety compliance standards
- Perform regular 1-2-1's, PDP discussions with team to drive performance Management/direction of contractors and suppliers
- Ownership of the Muller Engineering Excellence improvement roadmap for blow moulding
- Development and management of an effective planned, preventative, reactive and remedial maintenance system including CMMS
- Coordination and direction of team workload to meet business needs

As a Multi Skilled Engineer / Engineering Technician your purpose is to provide high quality scheduled and unplanned/reactive maintenance across the blow moulding / Dairy site
- (dependant on which area you were placed). Your job will be to actively identify root cause and bring the equipment back in to service as quickly as possible as well as seeking and identifying cost effective improvements to site assets and equipment, improving efficiency and reliability.

About our Teams

HVDC (High-voltage direct current): With new renewable energy projects in the North of Scotland needing to be connected to the National Grid and the electricity transported large distances from areas of Generation to areas of Demand, HVDC (High-voltage direct current) is the most efficient way to do this. SSEN Transmission are working on a significant number of new HVDC schemes deployed in Great Britain over the coming years. Our HVDC Engineering team is central to these projects and we are at the cutting edge of new HVDC Voltage Source Converter (VSC) technology, having recently commissioned the Shetland HVDC Link, which completed the Caithness-Moray-Shetland HVDC project, the first Multi-terminal HVDC VSC scheme in the world outside of China. With significant projects to work on in the North of Scotland, including work on our Eastern Green Link projects (planned HVDC links from the East coast of Scotland to Northeast England) as well as a number of embedded links within SSEN Transmissions own Network in the North of Scotland, we are aiming to connect up to 10GW of renewable energy in the North of Scotland to the National Grid. This team are based in Inverness, Glasgow or Perth.

Project Engineering: is a core technical department within SSEN Transmission, at the centre of the transition to Net Zero. The successful candidate will be responsible for reactive maintenance as well as conducting planned maintenance activities where required.
Ideal candidates should possess a time-served apprenticeship/HNC qualification and have prior experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in the food or beverages industry.

ASNT NDT Level III, PCN NDT Level III, Advanced NDT Specialist

Familiarisation of ASME & API Codes & Standards

Ability to assume full technical responsibility for clients’ NDT facilities.

Proven experience of providing solutions to clients’ NDT inspection related problems.

Maintain all of equipment and consumable storage in the store room to be ready for using with good conditions under acceptance criteria specific by client or international standard.

Willingness to be flexible and multi-task as part of a team, and contribute to company objectives.

Strongly motivated to achieve results, with a high degree of professionalism, honesty and integrity.

Excellent organizational and time management skills, able to priorities workloads with competing deadlines.

Good written skills to produce coursework and training materials, as well as clients’ NDT procedures, written practices, techniques and audit reports.

Provide internal trainiand technical guidance for other inspectors

Ensure that all personal certification is kept up to date.

Develop and approve NDT procedures, written practices and NDT techniques to a high standard that comply with clients

Creative skills to plan and deliver lessons in a professional, positive and engaging manner.

Ensure adequate training and cross checking the site works, share knowledgewith team members and contribute to team development.

To analyse work plans and projects, and as well as recommendations of every working unit; and to give advice on safety measures to the employer.

Feedback on revised Equipment’s and software’s for improvement.

Feedback after testing the new equipment on site for improvement.

Extensive knowledge of own subject area with extensive industrial NDT experience holding multiple NDT method Level III certification ASNT (RT,PT,UT,MT,VT,ET) /CSWIP (PAUT/TOFD)

Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
