About this opportunity…
Are you ready to join our Homes Platform Leadership team and help us to shape and deliver the next phase of our transformation?
Within the Homes Platform we're on a journey to transform our core technology and the technical capabilities of our colleagues. Over the last two years we have launched new digital journeys using modern JavaScript frameworks, developed detailed suites of customer journey analytics, transitioned workloads onto the Cloud and incrementally modernised and simplified our technology estate. Whilst embedding DevOps and Agile working practices to enable feature teams to autonomously deploy changes to production themselves.
Working with the Homes Technical Platform Lead, as a Lab Engineering Lead you'll be accountable for all facets of technology (across both run and delivery) for your Lab, working alongside the Lab Product Owner to run a world class product and engineering organisation with deep focus on service.
Here's where you'll make a difference…
-
Leading the technical strategy for your Lab across both immediate and long term horizons and building senior business and technology stakeholders advocacy in this vision. Considering the strategic commitments, resilience challenges, technology risks, currency needs and regulatory expectations that need to be delivered. In doing so, maintaining alignment between solutions and Group standards / policies and making sure that the outcomes which are delivered are measurable and can be tied back to OKRs.
-
Coordinating the delivery of this strategy through the feature teams within your Lab, and more widely across the Homes Platform and wider Bank. Proactively identifying delivery challenges and opportunities to release early value or de-risk deliveries.
-
Ensuring that there remains a critical focus upon service and resilience for the services and applications that are owned by your Lab, considering immediate and future requirements and risks. Thereby, embedding service as a collective responsibility for everyone within your Lab.
-
Developing the leadership team within the Lab, by role modelling Group Values and expectations, and holding them to account for clear individual objectives. To grow the people within your Lab, and create a true learning culture where team members can grow and develop. In doing so, accessing Group Wide Frameworks, learning collateral and early careers programmes to build a rounded engineering capability within your Lab.
-
Embedding agile and DevOps practices and constantly reviewing opportunities to improve the flow of work. Providing the business and technical capabilities that enable and empower feature teams to design and delivery change themselves locally through smaller more frequent releases.
-
Ensuring that costs are carefully managed against available budgets and that opportunities to improve the efficiency of internal and external spend are constantly reviewed.
