Who we need

Our College has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, innovative and dynamic lecturer to join the Aviation, Travel and Tourism team at its flagship City Hub campus. We are looking for someone who can inspire our students and provide high quality teaching, learning and assessment for a diverse range of students.

As part of this role, you will support a dynamic team to provide an outstanding student experience in all aspects of the development of the curriculum teaching and support in the delivery of a fast paced, curriculum area. The Faculty Area covers a wide breadth of curriculum levels from pre-16 and entry level through to adult provision and Higher Education.

What you’ll bring

A key focus of this role will be in driving the quality of the provision and the curriculum offer to meet the needs of our students, employers, and stake holders. Developing students’ opportunities for progression and developing readiness for employment will also be a critical factor of this role. The successful candidate will be required to liaise across other faculty areas; support services; admissions; English and maths and pastoral services to support the learner experience. If you hold an assessor/IQA award this would be an advantage but is not necessary.

If you can demonstrate a strong industry, teaching background in travel and tourism and an ability to drive improvements in teaching and learning, resulting in good and better outcomes for students; lead curriculum innovations; then we look forward to receiving your application.

Your Role as a Hospitality & Chef Trainer:

As a Hospitality & Chef Trainer, you'll enjoy the flexibility of working from home and get to hit the road and visit different sites within your region to meet your learners face-to-face in their workplaces.

Working Monday to Friday, a typical week will involve 2-3 days of travelling to see your chef apprentices. With the rest working from home; meeting apprentices online and completing administration.

What You'll Do:


Work with apprentices in their workplaces and online.
Use your industry knowledge to train the next generation.
Meet new apprentices and discuss their learning needs.
Explain how English and maths are important in the kitchen, to support your apprentices with their Functional Skills.
Attend our Chef Academy with your apprentices to support hands-on learning of various techniques.
Visit employers and provide feedback on their apprentices’ skills.
Develop relationships with employers in your area.
Complete administrative and planning tasks, using Google Suite and internal platforms and systems.




About You

We’re seeking passionate Hospitality professionals, looking to share their knowledge and make a meaningful impact on the hospitality industry. To succeed in this role, you’ll need the following:


Demonstrable experience at line management level, with a range of experience across BoH and FoH. Ideally, experience as a Food & Beverage Manager or similar.
A good grasp of technology and administrative skills.
Have, or be willing to work towards, a Level 2 (GCSE) qualification in English and maths.
A valid Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle for travel within your region.
