What will you be doing?
This Permanent position is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance their career within the Finance Sector and gain industry-leading experience in a thriving and supportive workplace.
We are looking for an individual with the confidence to scrutinise and challenge data and decisions. The successful applicant will be a true business partner, capable of supporting one of our regions within the Treatment operational business at multiple sites across the East, with a focus in the Essex area. Critical to success will be spending time with members of the Senior Treatment Team to understand the business strategy and challenges to ensure financial support is fit for purpose and in line with the wider Veolia strategy.
- The consolidation of accurate monthly management accounts for P&Ls within the role-holder's remit and reporting results and variances to their line manager, the Treatment Finance Director and General Managers;
- The responsibility to oversee and prepare forecasts/budgets in liaison with Operations Managers and General Managers supporting/advising as required;
- Ensure accurate Mid Month forecasts are reported;
- Capex reporting & forecasting;
- Supporting the General Manager's with the preparation of financial modelling for infrastructure developments and business opportunities;
- Supporting the General Manager's with due diligence processes for potential acquisitions and business integration;
- Manage a team of up to 4: 3 Management Accountants and 1 Administrator;
- Demonstrate strong Balance Sheet controls for your own cost centres including preparation of control account reconciliations;
- Reviewing Balance Sheets for direct reports;
- Completion of month end Vector pack for submission to Paris;
- Liaising with Internal and External stakeholders, including audit;
- Preparation of tax packs and statutory accounts packs for the statutory audits
What are we looking for?
- You will be a fully qualified accountant at a recognised awarding body - CIMA, ACA, ACCA essential with a number of years relevant post qualification experience.
- You should have experience of financial modelling, management accounting, together with the ability to influence decisions within a large complex organisation.
- Excellent people management skills are also a requirement to be able to manage a team and business partner with non-finance professionals at the highest level.
- Having strong systems knowledge (in particular exposure to Workday, Adaptive Insights, Microsoft/Google packages would be advantageous however training will be given).
- A full UK driving licence would be ideal, as travel to some of our other sites will be expected.
