The Finance Officer role is a key role working in Adult Social Care Finance. We are looking to recruit a Finance Officer within The Assessments Team, working along side a Senior Finance Officer, 4 other Finance Officers and a Finance Team Manager. The Assessments Team is a sub team within the Payments, Charging & Governance Section.
The Assessments Team are responsible for the collection of charges for social care service users in Residential and Nursing Care Homes. Finance Officers have an allocation of care homes and they are responsible for sending outcome letters to service users or their financial representatives, to confirm the assessed charge, to set up payment methods, to monitor care charge accounts and to review financial assessment when required.
The post holder must have excellent numeracy and keyboards skills as working quickly and accurately are essential for the role. The volume of work is substantial with target deadline and KPI to be met.
Due to the sensitive nature of the work, conversations with service users or their financial representative may be challenging, therefore the ability to converse at ease is essential for the post.
The position is permanent, working 37 hours per week with flexible working with some constraints e.g. office & duty cover. Full training will be carried out in the office setting followed by a hybrid style of working. The post is based at County Hall, Morpeth.
The salary for the post is Band 4 £24,294 - £25,979
Requirements of the role:
The post holder must have G.C.S.E in Maths and English (or the equivalent)
Excellent I.T. skills and experience with Microsoft Office (word and excel) is essential.
Recent experience in a finance role is desirable but not essential.
