Job Overview This role is a key part of supporting strategic and transformation programmes across the Dorset Integrated Care System (ICS). Delivering analysis and assurance the post holder will ensure business cases, investment plans and improvement opportunities are robust and able to deliver our ambitious change plans. This is a great opportunity for an analyst with strong technical expertise who is comfortable working with large and complex datasets to develop financial models for forecasting, scenario testing and planning. This role will suit an individual who enjoys supporting service change and has experience of developing and analysing cost and benefit models to evaluate options. Strong excel skills are a must, but the ideal candidate will have proven ability in using SQL to extract and transform data and experience building visualisations in tools such as PowerBI. This is a new position with the opportunity for the postholder to shape and develop the role over time in conjunction with senior management. Job Purpose The Finance Analyst Strategy is responsible for providing technical expertise and analytical skills to lead development of robust financial models in support of planning and service change. They will also act as the first point of contact with the Directorate for supporting the development of business cases, including ICS wide service change, capital programmes and funding applications. The post holder will work with data from a variety of sources, including financial information from partner organisations and non-financial data such as workforce, performance and activity across the system. They will utilise this data in novel and innovative ways to produce useful and insightful management information that supports financial planning. This role will be a key point of contact across the system for colleagues developing business cases, with investments typically ranging from £1m - £20m. The role will provide advice, financial analysis and independent assurance into these business cases to support evaluation and realisation of benefits, delivering service changes that improve health and wellbeing for the population of Dorset. As the ICS develops this role will support the planning and prioritisation of the capital allocation, ensuring the funding available is utilised to deliver the best outcomes and that organsational and system capital plans are aligned to key strategies such as digital and estates, in turn supporting the operational and clinical strategies that underpin the ICS Joint Forward Plan and long term ambitions.
