Duties

1. As the Fitness Center Technical Advisor, plans, develops, organizes, manages, and oversees a diverse and comprehensive physical fitness and sports programs which include group exercise classes, self-directed fitness and sports programs, mcent1ve programs, special events, intramural, extramural, and varsity sports, and instructional programs
2. Develops, implements, monitors, and documents a comprehensive training program to ensure all staff members possess the necessary skills and knowledge for their position
3. Prepares APF and NAF budgets, which include the expenditures required to conduct the fitness and sports programs (Categories A and B) Develops, implements, monitors, and documents a comprehensive training program to ensure all staff members possess the necessary skills and knowledge for their position
4. Determines adequacy of facilities, identifies additional needs and recommends facility construction/alterations and renovation projects and monitors repair and maintenance of existing facilities and equipment

Performs a variety of duties and responsibilities in support of day-to-day operations of the Altus AFB Fitness Center. Serves as desk attendant ensuring only authorized patrons use the facility and equipment and adhere to Fitness Center Policy. Greets visitors, answers telephone, makes reservations for classes or use of the equipment and facilities, and provides information on scheduled events and classes. Provides assistance and basic instruction to patrons in the proper use of exercise machines and equipment. Issues sports equipment and facilities according to established standards and local fire and safety procedures. Inspects returned equipment noting damage. Inspects all equipment and facilities according to established standards and local fire and safety procedures. Reports damaged exercise equipment to supervisor. Conducts minor repairs when necessary. Conducts cleaning of machines daily as prescribed in Fitness Center checklists. Operates point of sale system; receives payment and issues change for services such as massage therapy and personal training. Prepares cashier reports and makes daily deposits to the central cashier. Performs opening and closing procedures of facilities IAW written guidelines. Assists in setting up facilities, grounds and equipment for programs and special functions. Launders towels and upholds DV towel program. Performs other duties as assigned. Intervenes in disputes between customers and/or other staff members and ensures a customer friendly work and work-out environment is maintained.

Serves as lead outside attendant with responsibility for assisting with the maintenance program for all sports and recreational facilities assigned to Fitness and Sports. Prepares sports and recreation facilities to specific guidelines in support of the intramural and varsity sports program. Inspects playing area and surface for any potential safety hazards and takes immediate measures to correct. Plans the year round turf maintenance program for outside facilities. Serves as section VCO, overseeing the routine and preventative maintenance program for all vehicles and equipment assigned to outside maintenance. Operate government motor vehicles to pick up and deliver supplies, materials and equipment to fitness and sports work stations. Works under the supervision of the Sports and Fitness Director who makes assignments by defining objectives, priorities and deadlines. Responsible for the administration and distribution of medication to inmates in various locations, including the Health Services Unit, Special Housing Units, or other designated areas within the institution.

Administers medications to include but not limited to Oral, Topical, Nebulized, Meter Dose Inhaler, and Insulin, in a manner consistent with nationally recognized safe medical practices, to include accurate identification of the patient, medication, dosage, time, and route.

Reports and records adverse medication reactions.

Assists Pharmacist or other appropriate staff member in a variety of pharmacy related activities, including, but not limited to, entry of physician orders into a computerized pharmacy information system, preparation of medications for Pharmacist review, preparation of medication administration records, storage and inventory of pharmacy supplies, etc.
