The Estates Hard FM Team is responsible for the day to day repairs, PPM and operational testing for a wide range of building services and equipment located in the Trust.


We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and flexible Maintenance Electrician to join our multi-Skilled Estates team at Mile End Hospital site providing operational maintenance services throughout the Trust and its associated properties and sites.


You will be a keen team member with a recognised building services electrical apprenticeship or equivalent and have post qualification experience with in a complex building services environment. Barts Health NHS Trust is currently one of the largest NHS Trust in England and encompasses four hospitals based in Central and East of London. In keeping with the recommendations of the Richards Review of Diagnostics (2020) we are developing a Community Diagnostics Centre (CDC) at Mile End Hospital. CDCs will also facilitate patients having their diagnostic tests performed closer to home and within the local community, will be opened for12 hours a day over 7 days a week.

We have a very exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Chief Cardiorespiratory Physiologist/scientist role at the Mile End Hospital. The post holder would be accountable to the Head of Cardiorespiratory Physiology and report to the lead for respiratory physiologist and site leadership at Mile End CDC.

The post holder will function independently as an expert physiologist in respiratory Physiology. They will work closely with service leads for Cardiorespiratory physiology. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to maintain their clinical skills and to develop their skills into the cardiorespiratory diagnostics.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Lung Function Service at the Community Diagnostics Centre (CDC) in Mile End. The service will run 12 hours a day across 7 days, therefore the successful candidate may be required to work 12 hour shifts. The role is to run the lung function services at the site. Develop and maintain a high standard of practice based on a biopsychosocial assessment framework and supportive clinical management. Liaise and establish good working relationships with referring agents, colleagues in Primary Care services, Social Services, Community Mental Health Teams, Assertive Outreach, In-Patient services, Emergency Services, Criminal Justice, Voluntary Sector and other agencies as appropriate. To have knowledge of and practice a range of therapeutic interventions available to reduce distress for individuals experiencing an acute mental health crisis. Ability to work autonomously. To work with the service in developing plans that offer supportive crisis care in the least restrictive way. Act as a role model in the practice area, encouraging staff in supervision to sustain a supportive learning environment. Be responsible for the maintenance and accurate recording of patient information in the documentation systems and to ensure the effective dissemination of service user information throughout the Trust. Ensure compliance with the requirements Safeguarding Adults and Childrens policies. To ensure that staff have the required knowledge and skills to work within these procedures to support the safety of vulnerable adults and children.
