Acorn by Synergie are currently looking for a HR manager to join one of our well-established clients in the Pontypool area.
Details of job role:
* Monitoring and managing employee attendance and performance.
* Undertaking disciplinary investigations and hearings.
* Dealing with grievances & mediating between employees.
* Recruitment of employees - advertising the job, liaising with recruitment agencies & interviewing.
* Carrying out employee inductions.
* Training and developing of employees.
* Liaising with colleges/universities in relation to apprentices.
* Advising managers, foremen and employees on current employment law and the company's own employment policies and procedures.
* Negotiating contracts, working conditions or redundancy packages with employees.
* Managing the Company workwear (overalls) contract.
* Running the Company's time & attendance system and producing reports in the absence of the Personnel Administrator.
Skills and experience required:
* Must have experience within a previous HR role.
* Good communication skills and the ability to use all Microsoft office packages.
* Must be approachable and very hands on as you will be required to spend a lot of time on the shop floor.
* Have a calm and assertive firm attitude with the ability to work under pressure without direct supervision.
Hours of work and pay rate:
* 4 day working week Monday - Thursday but some Fridays will be required. Working hours will be discussed at interview.
* Minimum of 40 hours per week.
* £40,000 per annum.
