Join us as a Portfolio Manager, Financial Crime Technology
- We're looking for someone with strong organisational, financial management and people leadership skills along with real influence and impact to ensure the Financial Crime Technology department operates effectively
- We’ll look to you to drive measurement activity for headcount and financials, you'll understand and use Agile and DevOps principles, allowing sufficient flexibility for the portfolio to evolve as customer value is proven and the needs evolve
- You’ll be managing a rolling investment portfolio of over £130m to realise the strategic objectives of the enterprise or domain by providing investment planning, the transformation portfolio and design services

What you'll do
As a Portfolio Manager, you’ll provide support to the leadership team to deliver the business strategy and make sure that the operating rhythm is defined and managed effectively.
You’ll collaborate with domain leads in an advisory and challenge capacity, as well as release train managers, product owners and enterprise architects to conduct regular reviews of the investment portfolio and backlog, challenging the status quo and driving informed decision making about portfolio priorities. As well as this you'll drive strategic workforce transformation planning and engagement across the team and lead Our View mapping and data quality activity pre launch.
You’ll also be:
- Acting as an advisor and constrictive challenge to the Financial Crime Technology leadership team to drive cohesive, forward thinking evolution of their business
- Making sure that investments are identified and prioritised from the enterprise-wide portfolio or domain backlog relating to the minimum viable product, providing value to the customer and bank as early as possible
- Responsible for an annual budget of 130 million across un the Bank and Change the Bank
- Partnering with a range of stakeholders across the hub on shared projects such as Our View, performance management activity, pay calibration and bonus modelling
- Defining and tracking progress against departmental objectives and key results, providing data driven insights and proposed actions where intervention is required
- Defining, creating and managing a rolling wave strategic themed investment plan, aligned with the expected future business value outcomes
- Making informed decisions around resourcing of the portfolios, including any necessary scaling up or down of feature teams
The skills you'll need
To succeed in this role, you’ll need knowledge and experience of portfolio management theories, models and practices, and experience of leading teams within an Agile or DevOps environment. As well as this you'll need the ability to plan and coordinate multiple people and financial work streams and reprioritise to create transparency on key deliverables and timelines across the leadership team.
In addition, you’ll need:
- Strong analytical, problem solving skills and the ability to produce easy to consume data driven insights and executive reporting
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills and experience of partnering with and influencing senior stakeholders at CEO-3 or above
- Sound understanding of organisational design principles with experience of defining strategic workforce plans for teams of over 1000 resources
