The Specialist Disability Service (SDS) is recruiting an Occupational Therapist to join our small friendly team. Working in the Environmental Controls (EC) service, you will assess our clients for specialist hi-tech disability equipment to help control computers and home appliances. This role focuses on independence, and gives an opportunity to be client-centred, and achieve positive outcomes for people. It would suit OTs with a keen interest in technology, who are either recently qualified, or looking for a new challenge.



The post holder will :
• Hold an independent caseload, and assess clients for the most appropriate equipment to help them access their home appliances and computer equipment
• Assist senior members of the team with complex assessments where access method or technical setup is more involved
• Conduct annual reviews to ensure safe and optimal use of the equipment provided to patients, from both a clinical and technical point of view

As required, the post holder will assist with:
• Setting up, installing and withdrawing equipment, ensuring each setup is tailored to individual patient needs
• Providing first line technical support and troubleshooting for patients

Work may be carried out by phone, video, or face-to-face with clients. This will involve travelling to see patients in their own environment (home, care home or hospital), primarily in the Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes areas. You do not need your own car, but you must be able to drive the service's pool cars.

We have an opportunity for a highly motivated Assistant to join the Technology Platforms team within Centre for Human Genetics here at the Nuffield Department of Medicine. Your primary role will be to help establish, develop and run high throughput service utilising platform generating multi-omics and spatial data from single cells to whole tissue samples.

You will be responsible for reliably implementing a range of molecular biology tasks, according to standard protocols, ranging from simple assays (sample quantitation and PCR) to complex tasks either manually and/or with the assistance of automation. You will be tasked with troubleshooting technical or scientific problems, working closely with peers, senior management and relevant technical support. You will be performing the steps required for the running of the different platform technologies as well as highlighting and implementing improvements to current procedures. You will also be responsible for keeping accurate daily records of experiments on tracking sheets, electronic lab books or LIMS as appropriate.

It is essential that you hold a degree in Biological Sciences along with experience of performing complex experimental procedures following SOPs. You will have demonstrable ability to organise and prioritise work efficiently delivering results to required standard and to an agreed schedule as well as demonstrable knowledge in molecular and cellular biology, genomics and -omics. You will also have the ability to communicate with a wide range of people and to enjoy working as a team player with a lively and motivated group of scientists.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities To use Electronic Patient Records, Trust systems, clinical notes, and other screening methods to identify patients eligible for local and national audits including, but not limited to, TARN, NHFD, BSR, SSIS, and iBID. Ensure data collected and entered into these systems for each eligible patient is accurate, and data submissions are completed within agreed deadlines. To ensure high quality and timely collection, analysis, and reporting of data. Ensure that information is validated, accurate and appropriate, and shared to support clinical and non-clinical teams. To monitor and investigate data quality issues, ensuring problems are brought to the attention of the Manager. Work alongside members of the Data and Information Office and Management, to establish and maintain protocols and procedures for the collection, management, use, reporting, and presentation of routinely collected and supplied information. To participate in the regular and routine reporting for internal and external requirements, within deadlines and to the Directorate standard. Assist the Manager in the development and production of the organisation requirement for the monthly provision of corporate/commissioning activity, ensuring the validity of the data. To support the Manager in the provision of financial and activity information as requested in conjunction with the Trusts Commissioning and Finance Departments. To support the Data and Information Manager, MTC and Network Clinical Directors and Managers, Operational Services Managers and Matron to ensure high data quality standards are developed and maintained. To provide support on any ad hoc data capture, requests or management enquires. To carry out duties with a reasonable degree of independence, without day-to-day supervision. To provide guidance and training to members of the team as required. Be attuned to how the impact of data collected and reported reflects, to local, regional and national audiences, the standards and quality of care provided by the Division and MTC. To provide support and advice to Thames Valley Network groups and contribute to the Data and Information Offices role as a regional hub. Be aware of national data standards and definitions and, where applicable, comply with them in relation to the collection, entry, analysis, and reporting of data and information. Be responsible for collecting data in a live environment, i.e. Clinics and wards. This requires face to face patient contact and liaising with clinicians/administrators. Monitor and track patient data in line with patient pathways. To be conversant and compliant with the Data Protection Act, Information Governance Policy and IT Security Policy. To be flexible in ones approach to the role as it develops. Communication Maintain a close working relationship with coding, health records, Oxfordshire Coroners Service, clinicians and MTC and Directorate support staff to ensure that data is collected and recorded in a timely and efficient manner. Support the manager to establish and develop links with Information Partners both internally and externally to ensure a regular supply of information that meets the organisations corporate and commissioning information requirements Attend and contribute to Organisational and regional Network meetings wherever necessary. Be a positive ambassador when representing the organisation. To make and respond to specific telephone/digital enquiries as the role requires. Relay messages in an accurate and timely manner when relevant staff are unavailable. Report adverse events of any system failures or data quality concerns to the Manager as they arise. Share best practice to facilitate the quality, accuracy, nature, and timeliness of data collection and reporting across the Division, MTC and Networks. Continuous Professional Development Develop a personal development plan annually as part of the individual Appraisal process, working with the Manager. Keep skills and knowledge up to date and relevant to carry out specific tasks. Actively participate in training, education, and development programmes to facilitate your in-role progression. Support the Manager with the development and delivery of training and support to peers, managers, clinicians, and members of the Division, MTC and Networks, in the use of data and information systems. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Information Analyst to work within our dynamic Information Department at the OUH Trust. This corporate role is crucial to the Trust and the post holder will have knowledge and experience of the way NHS data is used to support operational performance.

The role will involve taking ownership of large-scale projects, delivering, supporting and on-going improvement of reports, dashboards, and data sources on the Trust’s business intelligence platform (ORBIT+). In addition to project-based work, you will support the wider team responding to ad-hoc requests and provide and develop guidance for users to be able to navigate, use and retrieve the information they require from ORBIT+.

This role is within the Reporting and Developments function of the Information Department reporting to the Informatics Development Manager. You’ll be working alongside a mixture of colleagues from the wider team as well as external stakeholders supporting different projects. A typical week includes taking projects through the Reporting and Development Life Cycle- from liaising with stakeholders to establish requirements, scoping the project, designing and development through to publishing your solution to ORBIT+ users.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop, produce and interpret the information needed by the Trust for both internal and external use in supporting and developing its business aims, and in meeting statutory reporting requirements.

The role will include developing, producing, and presenting management information for use by the Trust; providing ad hoc reporting in response to requests for information by users, including Freedom of Information requests; timely and accurate reporting to external bodies on the Trust’s performance in line with national definitions.

The post holder will work closely within the Corporate Information Team to cover a broad workload at all times. They will be expected to develop expertise in specific subject areas, and a comprehensive understanding of the departments work. They will be expected to liaise closely with colleagues within the department and the wider trust in order to meet the organisation’s reporting needs.

A key element in this role will be to demonstrate decision making to the benefit of the Trust and wider team in leading on the delivery of projects, and being able to progress on your own initiative.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. To provide specialist advice within the team and to the Trust as a whole in the interrogation, analysis and presentation of data from all of the relevant sources within the Trust. This will include advising on local and national datasets, definitions and systems e.g. NHS Data Dictionary and Commissioning Data Sets (CDS).
2. To lead on specified areas of the performance & reporting agenda to provide operational and management reports. This will involve working closely with services for that area and the wider team.
3. To be responsible for leading on projects within a report development life-cycle.
4. To respond to Ad-Hoc requests for information from end users. This will involve communication with the user to understand their requirements. The post holder will be able to explain their results to end users with a level of detail and technical information appropriate to the situation. This work will need to be managed to ensure a timely response to all requests, with appropriate escalation within the department when issues arise.
5. To design, develop and support routine reports to be accessed directly by end users. This will primarily be done using tools such as, but not limited to, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Excel, and Tableau.
6. To maintain and review robust procedure notes for all routine work, and to ensure that these are shared within the team to ensure adequate cover.
7. To review national data definitions and changes (ISNs) as required. To ensure that the relevant members of the team and other departments are kept informed of relevant changes and offer advice on their impact.
8. To maintain a focus on high standards of data quality within both source systems and processed data. To advise on areas impacted by poor data quality and actively promote good practice and improvements.
9. To represent the information team at meetings in person or remotely. Travel between sites will be required.
10. To actively pursue requisite team training and personal development goals, such as improvement to technical proficiency.
11. To support and train services in their use of Trust Reporting Tools (such as Tableau Explorer), as required, in both small groups and one to one.
12. In addition, the post holder will be expected to be a core member of the Information Team and the overall Digital and Partnerships Directorate. Specifically they will be expected to:1. Ensure the acceptance and adherence to the Data Protection Act within the team and to advise and encourage other departments/organisations on these matters.
2. Support personal development and training requirements of other members of the team.
3. Ensure adherence within the team to Trust and team policies without exception.
4. Assist users of the Information service in a polite, responsive and helpful manner.
5. Undertake other duties that are considered to be within the general scope of their post, as required by the Information Manager.
