The Category Manager position for Commercial & Consumer HP Peripherals is dedicated to the dynamic transactional IT landscape. The successful candidate will work closely with internal and HP external sources to determine the right product offering in a different market route. Besides a very detailed view of the market, the individual will match HP's product strategy to identify profitable growth areas. As part of the 4P of marketing, the communication strategy will also be responsible for this role, including internal and external coordination with the HP sales force and HP's reseller channel. Data analytics is key to this role as by the day, new data streams become available and need to be filtered, streamlined, and condensed to get to a solid strategy proposal.
Your responsibilities:
Collect, aggregate, and interpret large amounts of public data to determine industry trends within the personal systems area.
Based on the foundation build by the data analysis, define an offering strategy and aligned it with key internal & external peer members.
Actively manage all key financial performance indicators of the offered portfolio and align them to the overarching company goals.
Develop and execute internal & external communication towards the HP Sales Force & HP Customers.
Interact regularly with external resellers & distributors to articulate the offering strategy and take market feedback.
Develop and maintain a 360-degree/24-month business plan for product categories.
What do we expect?
Bachelor's or master's degree.
5-10 years of experience as a category manager or similar role within the personal systems area (minimum 5 years' experience in the German/Austrian PC market).
Experience with market research in the field of IT and in business data analytics.
Excellent knowledge of category management and sales principles.
Strong business data analytics knowledge.
Good knowledge of the competitive PC landscape in Germany & Austria and local reseller landscape.
Financial planning and modeling skills, comfortable managing business planning and reporting.
Strong communication skills.
Proficient in MS Office package.
Broad experience in managing a PC Product Life Cycle.
Extensive experience in promotional marketing processes and practices.
Fluent knowledge of both English and German language.
