About the Role

No two days are the same here at Nottingham City Council, Enviroenergy. One day you could be working on planned preventative measures, the next day you could be responding to a leak on the network. This role is crucial in maintaining the ongoing supply of heat and power to our domestic and commercial customers across the City. We have a lot of exciting projects planned for the future.

The post holder will be working for Nottingham City Council, Enviroenergy department leading on the maintenance of the District Heating Network, encompassing primary and secondary pipelines and associated infrastructure assets. Establish and execute safety protocols, monitoring, and inspection regimes. Ensure the annual delivery of all planned maintenance work and manage reactive maintenance in response to incidents and service failures, including overseeing the emergency callout response for the network maintenance team. Effective risk management of the Heat Station and its operational assets is crucial to ensure quality service aligned with the business plan and operational priorities.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Controls and Instrumentation Engineering or similar and have significant relevant experience.
• Successful track record of delivering service improvements in an engineering environment, effective project management and cross service collaboration.
• Working knowledge of asset management software including: Scada, Pirana and corporate asset management systems.
• Evidence of establishing a performance management culture, including service planning, target setting, performance appraisals and the management of different staff groups.
• Ability to demonstrate effective leadership skills, inspire, motivate and lead by personal example. To have clear track record of successful team development, developing others by creating a culture of innovation and achievement.
• Experience and working knowledge of Health & Safety Legislations and other appropriate regulations.

We are seeking to appoint an Executive Assistant to provide support to the Director of the Centre for Human Genetics, Nuffield Department of Medicine.

The Centre for Human Genetics (CHG) houses approximately 400 researchers and staff conducting world-leading research in human genetics, genomics and bioinformatics. Comprising nearly 3,5000sqm of laboratory space, the unit hosts a variety of research groups as well as housing a number of small research facilities that deliver key services and technologies to support these teams.

You will act as the primary contact for all internal or external enquiries and requests for information for the CHG Director, and you will manage the Director’s diary, using initiative to make considered judgements when juggling the demands placed on the schedule. You will be responsible for organising efficiently the arrangements for meetings, including arranging appropriate catering for meetings held in the office and other venues, and you will make all domestic and international travel arrangements for the Director, including arrangement of visas, processing of expenses and arrangement of insurance as per the University’s policies and legal regulations. Another key part of this role is the provision of daily operational line management to other PAs working in the unit, with 3 direct reports.

What you will be doing

Additionally, you would be involved in supporting Clinical Trial Aseptic Unit: To participate in the day to day running of the CTASU in line with the rota system, to participate in safe systems of work and documentation of these, to undertake safe and accurate preparation of a wide range of aseptic products on a daily basis, including cytotoxics, epidurals, antibiotics, injectables, novel agents and monoclonal antibodies, to maintain personal expertise, skills and necessary knowledge of the technical aspects of aseptic and non-aseptic dispensing, to ensure products are prepared according to standard operating procedures (SOPs), assemble drugs and consumables required for preparation of aseptic products, accurately recording batch numbers and expiry dates, to be responsible for the accurate completion of product worksheets and labels, assigning batch numbers to aseptically prepared products, to accurately and safely label aseptically prepared products, to facilitate the quality assurance of products and to notify the Senior Aseptic Technician of any incidents and procedural deficiencies, to be responsible for ensuring finished products are packed prior to distribution to ensure the prompt and safe delivery, to ensure finished products are transported in the appropriate environment taking into account any physical & legal requirements, to be responsible for unpacking and receipt of deliveries, undertake regular expiry date checking to identify expired or short dated stock, to be responsible for monitoring drug stock and consumable levels and replenishing, to ensure that all equipment within CTASU is in good working order and serviced regularly, to participate in the clean room/isolator cleaning rota, to assist in environmental and physical monitoring of the CTASU, to be involved in the maintenance of departmental records including staff training, environmental monitoring, cleaning, maintenance logs and worksheets, where applicable to be involved in the delivery of drugs to clinical areas.
