JOB PURPOSE Provide high quality community specialist palliative care nursing services to patients and their families within the boroughs that the hospice serves Working as an integrated team of nurses, you will contribute to the overall care of patient and families referred to St Josephs within the community setting. It currently provides high quality palliative and end of life care to a significant and growing number of people living in East London and beyond. It employs a large team of clinical staff, including medical practitioners who work across community, in-patient and out-patient services delivering individualised, responsive and holistic support to patients and their families/carers. KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS You will work closely with a range of professionals within the hospice and external partners to identify and support expert care to patients and their families within the boroughs. You will be expected to build close and effective working relationships with professionals providing end of life care within the boroughs. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership and managerial The Clinical Nurse Specialist will oversee the community nursing service for a defined area, this included delegating tasks to and coordinating the work of the Band 6 Associated Nurse Specialist to ensure all patients in your area review timely intervention, this includes the provision of face to face visits. Assist the Head of Community Palliative Care with translating service strategy into effective operational functionality and objectives Provide professional and clinical nursing leadership to other Palliative Care Nurse Practitioners and grades of staff, acting as a point of expertise, providing advice and support, this include providing management and clinical supervision. JOB DESCRIPTION 1. INPATIENT HOSPICE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Duties include: 1.1 Delivery of medical care to specialist palliative care inpatients with consultant supervision (using a holistic approach, addressing the patients physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs). 1.2 Work as part of the multi-disciplinary, specialist palliative care team to optimise patient care. 1.3 Clerk new admissions to the hospice through history and physical examination and explore advance care planning. 1.4 Attendance at & participation in the weekly Consultant Ward Round and Multi-Disciplinary Team meeting. 1.5 Communicating with patients and their families pro-actively, providing appropriate information and support as necessary. 1.6 Chairing of family meetings when appropriate. 1.7 Use of the multi-lingual advocacy service to aid assessment of and communication with patients & families who do not speak English fluently. 1.8 Appropriate communication with health professionals outside of palliative medicine, to ensure good continuity of patient care. 1.9 Timely provision of medical letters and discharge summaries. 1.10 Participation in bereavement follow-up as required. 2. OUT-OF-HOURS / ON-CALL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 2.1 The on call component of this role comprises a full on call rota working 1 in 6 weekdays and 1 in 4 single weekend days. There may be additional on call duties available at other times. 2.2 Participate in the hospice first on-call rota, providing out-of-hours cover for the hospice inpatient unit and community palliative care team with consultant support throughout. On-call days at weekends and bank holidays are single-days non-resident 09:00-09:00 with estimated average work of 12 hours during each 24-hour non-resident period. 2.3 Must be available to attend the hospice with 60 mins during all non-resident on-call periods. On site on-call accommodation is available if required. 3. St Josephs Hospice uses an electronic patient records system. 4.3 To participate in audit, research or any on-going developments within the hospice. 4.4 To participate in teaching students, hospice staff and volunteers as required. 4.5 To participate in journal club and educational activities at St Josephs Hospice. 4.6 To comply with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements as stipulated by the Royal Colleges. 4.7 To maintain own professional indemnity insurance to cover work in the hospice. 4.8 To maintain confidentiality at all times and comply with all other aspects of the General Medical Councils Code of Professional Conduct. 4.9 To keep a portfolio of evidence, to have an annual appraisal and write a personal development plan (PDP) in line with GMC revalidation policies and procedures. 5. MAIN TERMS AND CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT 7.1 Educational supervision will be provided by one of the medical consultants. 7.2 The post holder will be appraised via an arrangement between the hospice and Homerton University Hospital. 7.3 The Responsible Officer for this post, in relation to revalidation, is the Medical Director of the Homerton University Hospital NHS Trust. 7.4 St Josephs Hospice supports requirements for continuous professional development as laid down by the Royal College of Physicians and is committed to providing time and financial support for these activities. There is a study leave budget for the medical staff. Study leave will need to be approved by the medical director or other member of the consultant team. 7.5 Job planning will be undertaken and reviewed on a yearly basis with the Medical Director. 7.6 NHS superannuation can be continued subject to no significant gaps in service. 7.7 There is an office for the medical team at the Hospice. The role
As a HSE Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. As our Health, Safety and Environmental Engineer, you will be a member of the Commissioning Alliance playing an integral role responsible for ensuring commissioning programme adherence and compliance with applicable statuary health and safety legislative requirements and identifying non-compliances, whilst providing guidance on such matters.

Day-to-day, you'll be reporting to the Commissioning Health, Safety and Welling Lead, amongst providing advice and guidance for smooth operation, reporting and resolution of HSE issues. Moreover, ensuring the daily coordination of the Commissioning Health and Safety Management arrangements and monitoring between Commissioning Programme and Pre-Operations Industrial Safety team.

• Participate in maintaining and improving Health, Safety and Environmental performance in control of risks across the Commissioning programme.
• Review Commissioning RAMS and provide technical safety advice to Commissioning members to eliminate/reduce risks/hazards to people, plant and environment.
• Provide advice and support producing the relevant and appropriate Health and Safety performance reports, including identification of trends and early warnings of possible issues, recommending appropriate action.
• Establish and maintain Health and Safety risk profiles and undertake associated risk-based assessments, inspections and Health and Safety assurance activities.
• Support implements the of Commissioning H&S arrangements from the Health and Safety Plan during commissioning phase at HPC.

This role is full time, thirty-seven hours per week and is based on site at Hinkley Point C.

Essential experience of the HSE Engineer

This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station's vast network of rooms.

The role
As a Plant, Tool and Equipment Technician, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance. You will be joining a new team helping to effectively repair and manage on site owned plant tools and equipment for the MEH Alliance.
Day-to-day, you'll You will be responsible for overseeing and completing reactive and planned maintenance for all the plant, tools and equipment (PTE) procured by the MEH Alliance on the HPC project.

• To effectively repair and manage on site owned plant tools and equipment for the MEH Alliance.
• To offer familiarisation to teams requiring the use of PTE in their section and to ensure the correct use and standard is maintained at all times.
• Provide feedback on Improvements to where PTE can be better managed throughout the project and offer advise on better products if clear effective improvement can be found
• This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools, or standing for extended periods of time.

This role is full time, 38 hours per week, and is based on site at Hinkley Point C.

Essential experience of the Plant, Tool and Equipment Technician

• Experience maintaining small tools and plant including repair.
• Electrical and mechanical knowledge for larger plant items.
• Understanding of LOLER and PUWER regulations.
• Understanding of LEV, Welding and general calibration data and procedures for survey equipment.
