This post is part of the Scottish Government DDaT profession. As a member of the profession you will join the professional development system, currently BCS RoleModelplus.

Main Duties
Provide advice and guidance on security strategies to manage identified risks and ensure adoption and adherence to standards.
Obtain and act on vulnerability information and conducts security risk assessments and business impact analysis on complex information systems.
Investigate major breaches of security, and recommend appropriate control improvements.
Contribute to development of information security policy, standards and guidelines.
Interpret information assurance and security policies and applies these in order to manage risks.
Provide advice and guidance to ensure adoption of and adherence to information assurance architectures, strategies, policies, standards and guidelines.
Use control testing information to support information assurance assessments.

SSEN Transmissions Legal Team plays a crucial role in delivering key projects and supporting various business areas including commercial and construction, property and planning, and providing regulatory support. We are seeking a summer placement student with a passion for the energy industry to join us for a 12-week placement. The paid placement will give you exposure to diverse areas of law in an exciting, fast-paced business.

This opportunity will involve experience within the varied team specialisms including property, commercial and construction and dispute resolution. A typical day in the legal team may include experience of document drafting, negotiation, client meetings and providing advice and support to colleagues across SSEN Transmission, helping them to understand, minimise and mitigate legal risks.

Our summer placement students work collaboratively in a variety of contexts, while also taking ownership of their role by working under their own direction to drive action forward. There will be networking and presentation opportunities, specialist sessions and support from our graduates.

What do I need?

Our opportunities are open to students who are:

- In their 3rd or 4th year of the LLB undergraduate law degree

• The candidate must be fully experienced in fire alarms and have the certification to evidence this

Job Description Security Officer
The role of the Security Officer / Controller is a dual role spending time in the Security Control Room monitoring CCTV and Mall Patrols.
You will Manage and apply Security systems to New Kirkgate.
You are Required to work Shift Patterns consisting of Days Monday to Sat 09.00 - 17.00

Duties to include but not limited to:
• Monitoring CCTV Systems
• Access Control Management to all Sites
• Site / Mall Patrols
• Opening / Closing of Sites
• Security / Health and Safety Checks and Reporting
• Fire and Intruder Alarm Monitoring
• Key Control
• Assisting Retailers in the Mall Area
• Answering phones when require

Key Responsibilities:
• To work the hours and shifts in accordance with conditions of employment.
• To monitor CCTV images of the Centre as instructed by Centre Management, Security Manager or Operations Manager.
• To carry out duties in accordance with instructions issued by Centre Management. Note: Some cleaning may be required.
• To comply fully with the Health & Safe ty Policy for the centre.
• To ensure that the requirements of the Fire regulations are strictly complied with.
• To assist with the implementation of the Centre’s Emergency Plan and Evacuation Strategy in the event of an emergency.
• To ensure that the Rules & Regulations of the Centre are complied with at all times.
• Ensure that all incidents are recorded in Incident Log.
• Ensure that contractors arriving on site adhere fully to the centre procedures for contractor management.
• Ensure that the centre is a safe and pleasant environment.
• Assist with enquiries from tenants and members the public when requested.
• To be aware of and abide by all rules, terms and conditions of the company.
• To undertake other duties i.e. helping the cleaning team by litter picking where possible
• To Comply with procedures as set out in the Site Assignment Instructions.
• In order to comply with the Security Industry Act 2001, officers must hold an CCTV SIA Public Space Surveillance Licence and where necessary a valid SIA Security Licence.

Social Security Scotland has an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security Risk and Assurance Manager to ensure the agency maintains a high level of security assurance, governance and compliance in line with our risk appetite.

You will lead a talented team of Information and Security Officers and Security Risk Advisors to drive forward the implementation of an ambitious Information Security Assurance, Governance and Risk Programme.

The Security Risk and Assurance team manages risk, provides security consultancy, ensures supply chain assurance, manages the Security Awareness programme develops security policies and the Information Security Management System. The team works closely with the Head of Security Assurance and teams across the Chief Digital Office to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and information systems across the organisation.

This is a high-profile role that offers the successful candidate the opportunity to make a significant and positive difference to people who rely on Social Security Scotland.

The role will initially provide cover for maternity leave of an existing Cyber Security Risk and Assurance Manager for 1 year which will involve leading a team, after which the role will evolve its focus towards governance and compliance with differing line management responsibilities.

This post attracts a £5000 Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) pay supplement after a 3 months DDaT competency qualifying period. The payment will be backdated to your start date in the role. About the role

We are looking for a dedicated solicitor to join the SSSC’s in-house corporate legal team. You will provide expert advice and guidance to teams across the organisation on a wide range of governance matters. Your role will involve interpreting and advising on both our own legislative framework and rules, and those that govern organisations and public bodies more generally.

The SSSC is an ambitious and forward-looking organisation, and the legal team plays an important part in supporting new initiatives meaning the work is engaging and varied.

As a Senior Enterprise Architect at SSE, you'll drive value through analysing business demands and organisational goals to provide technology strategy direction. This will guide the delivery of technology changes to achieve the required outcomes from a Business Unit and Group perspective. You will be responsible for the evolution of architecture from current to future state for the Security domain.

- This role will focus principally on Security technologies, but you will use your broader business and technology knowledge, working in a team of cross-domain architects, to provide relevant and timely guidance to your stakeholders.

- You will evaluate technology changes in a complex estate and make the necessary challenges and steers to align delivery with strategic direction, whilst considering the immediate operational needs of the business.

- You will provide oversight on future state designs and assure solutions adhere to architecture principles, guardrails, standards and the target state architecture.

- As a strong leader and influencer, you'll analyse the business and central roadmaps and work with key stakeholders to define the technology strategy within the Security domain.

- You will facilitate and arbitrate architecture decisions to maximise business value, resolve issues and ensure informed decisions are made in the best interests of the Group.

What do I need?

You'll demonstrate your extensive ability to work at senior/executive levels and will have the ability to define the value provided from Information Technology in a way that is compelling for your audience. Your pragmatic approach will mean you can balance business needs that are both strategic and tactical.

- Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex security solutions. Previous experience working with Operational Technologies would be advantageous.

- Expert knowledge of security frameworks, regulations, standards, and best practices, such as NIST, CAF, COBIT, ISO, NIS, GDPR, etc.

- Strong skills in security architecture, risk assessment, threat modelling and security testing.

- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and to translate business requirements into security solutions.

- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, SABSA, TOGAF, or equivalent is highly desirable.

Previous experience in Enterprise Architecture and your proven ability to deliver EA value to senior stakeholders in organisations is essential; however, it will be your drive as an IT professional and your desire to make a positive contribution to the future of SSE, which will help ensure your success in this role.
