Maintenance Operative

Salary: £24,960.00 - £28,995.20 per annum (DOE)

Requirements:
- Qualifications in recognised trade, e.g. City & Guilds,
- Knowledge of general maintenance relating to buildings, mechanical and electrical services, decoration, plumbing and gardening,
- Time served experienced Tradesman and all-round experience in a number of trades,
- Manual handling techniques and Health & Safety in the workplace,
- Knowledge of use of power tools and other general maintenance equipment.
- Hold a full driving license.
As a Maintenance Operative you will:
- Undertake general maintenance, security, porterage and cleaning service at Howard House School
- To undertake various regular statutory checks including Asbestos visual check, fire alarm weekly and periodic tests, water checks etc
- Respond effectively to all urgent maintenance and repair tasks as they arise.
- Undertake general repairs and maintenance around the site, inside and out, including plastering, basic joinery, decorating, repairs on furnishings and buildings, including woodwork, and gardening etc. to ensure a safe and well cared for environment is maintained
- Work as an effective team member with maintenance and cleaning staff, support staff and teaching staff
- Supervise all external contractors ensuring that all necessary procedures and policies are adhered to.

Howard House School is an independent day special school catering for pupils with SEMH. It is co-educational and can accept up to 22 pupils aged between 10 and 18 years.
