Our client TOYOTA are looking for Production Operatives to join the team at their vehicle manufacturing plant in Burnaston, Derby. Hours of work:

• 39 hours per week, working a two-shift pattern, rotating weekly:
• Earlies: 06:00 to 14:18
• Lates: 15:20 to 23.38
• Or Day shift: 07:00 – 15:33
• You will need to attend a 15-minute briefing prior to the start of your shift.

Pay Rates:

• £15.40 per hour including average shift premium. £31,231 per annum
• £13.22 per hour Base rate
• +£1.10 Shift allowance mornings
• +£3.26 Shift allowance Lates
• Overtime can be called up to 45 minutes on the early shift and up to 2 hours on late shift.
• Overtime is paid at a premium: Time and third for the first two hours and time and a half there after.

Job Description:

Production began here in 1992 and Toyota Manufacturing UK are now the sole European supplier for the corolla hybrid, and the sole global supplier for the Toyota Corolla Touring Sports with 130,000 cars per year being manufactured here at this impressive plant. Toyota are working towards being 100% Carbon Neutral by 2025.

You will join our production team responsible for building the Toyota Corolla. You will be working within one of our main production areas, either Body shop, Paint shop, Plastics shop, or Assembly shop. In addition, we are also hiring in to the Business Revenue Centre for Used Vehicle Refurbishments and accessory fitting.

• Working on our production line, running one of our manufacturing processes, building an element of the vehicle.
• Confirming quality, and inspection.
• Taking ownership for improving the condition of your process.
• Raising and implementing improvement ideas.

You will receive a one-week induction learning the skills needed to work on the production line and a 4 week ramp up plan where you will be trained by an experienced Toyota Member.

We are ideally looking for experienced candidates, from an automotive background used to working on busy production assembly lines.

Keen eye for detail is required, must be able to keep up with running lines speeds and have assembly experience. Some dexterity assembly is required.

The role is full time - long term and can lead to a permanent contract after a qualifying period.

Main Responsibilities

• Be present at the morning meeting and prepare notes summarising key points discussed.
• Generate the weekly reports for the service calls every Monday and provide the monthly reports whenever needed by the Production Manager or Operations Manager.
• Ensure that the cost-savings reports are regularly updated.
• Make sure to regularly update the operators and supervisor's hours on the Interflex system and keep the timesheet up to date in the control room.

• Creating new SOPs and LOTOs as needed.
• Check Intelex reports for operator training and communicate with operators and supervisors for training completion.
• Keeping training folders current and updating the appropriate training matrix.
  Keeping track of and organising paperwork for operator's training.
• Labels for pipework and other non-production tasks on the Lighthouse printer.
  Print handover sheets until the digital handover is live.
• Posters and newsletters will be placed in various locations throughout the plant.
• Scanning manufacturing worksheets and updating creation dates in R12.
• Recording FRCs and certifying batches in R12 while maintaining an updated KANBAN system.
• Purchase necessary stationery and hardware for the production team according to the provided list.
• Ensuring that the plant effluent meets the standards set by the Environment Agency and Anglian Water.
• Ensure to frequently inspect consumables and general items utilised on E Site
• Maintain exceptional housekeeping standards on E-site and contribute to site BPI enhancements.

The applicant should have:

• A background in chemical manufacturing and knowledge of COMAH.
• Strong communication skills required to interact with daily contacts such as Production Manager, Procurement, and Logistics groups.
• Experience working independently; self-driven; strong work ethic and value organisation
• Proficient in computer skills Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, as well as experience with plant services process control computer systems.
• Strong numerical and verbal skills, excellent organisation and coordination abilities.
• Must be able to follow instructions, record data, work under pressure, set priorities, coordinate team members, and participate in safety programmes. Ensure top-notch housekeeping and operational standards.
