Our client is a leading manufacturer of stainless steel products for various industries and due to a healthy order book they are currently looking for a Production Engineer to join their team. Working as part of a team and reporting to the Operations Manager, this role would suit someone who has previous experience in a similar role within an engineering environment.

Key Duties:

• ·Set, adjust and maintain bespoke production machinery used for cutting, forming and assembling metal parts
• ·Carry out daily and weekly maintenance duties
• ·Work with production staff to resolve technical and setting issues within a manufacturing environment

Experience:

• ·Previous experience in engineering environment a similar role - or may have Toolmaking experience
• ·Good knowledge of Hydraulics and pneumatics
• ·PLC experience would be useful
• ·Working to ISO9001 standards.
• .ONC or HNC in Mechanical Engineer (not essential)

This is a very hands on role within a busy production environment, where you will be working to support customer demand. You will be working very closely with the Production Manager who will be able to offer additional support and training for the right candidate.

Working for a global manufacturer at the Gillingham operations, as Manufacturing Assembly Engineer, you will support activities to ensure that all components, products and assemblies are produced to the required quality and quantity, in the most efficient time and cost effective manner, whilst supporting the Project Management and Engineering team's project deliverables.

The role

• Defining the manufacturing and assembly method/process for prototype components and assembly - creating manufacturing / assembly routing
• Building product to a defined order schedule.
• Defining, ordering and manufacturing of special tooling as required.
• Identifying supplementary processes from sub-contract specialists; agreeing the process parameters/drawing features/tolerancing to ensure compliance with engineering drawing requirements.
• Recommend improvement processes and product quality.
• Writes work instructions
• Support training plans for team members.
• Define supporting documentation for works orders
• Establish first off sign off and maintain required quality standard
• Define calibration and control of all assembly equipment
• Oversee the cleanliness testing facility and completion of cleanliness audits.
• Complete inspection and preparation of products for despatch.
• Complete Risk and COSHH assessments
• Define front line maintenance and basic fault diagnosis

You should possess sound understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing/assembly processes, be competent with engineering drawings and specifications and have excellent knowledge of assembly techniques and processes. Experience of collecting QMS data to qualify products and components is essential. Ideally you will be degree (or equivalent) educated, be familiar with CAD/Solidworks and familiar working in a prototype, small batch environment, along with knowledge with of GD&T.

Job Title: Manufacturing Production Engineer

Shift: 15:00 - 11:00 (Monday to Friday) Plenty of overtime available (Saturday X half & Sunday double time)

Salary: £37,000 to £39,500 per annum (Dependant on experience)

Primary Objective:

To ensure that all plant and machinery is maintained and operates to the highest level of efficiency and safety.

Role Responsibilities:

• Follow cGMP and relevant Standard Operating Procedures
• Ensure that all plant and machinery is repaired promptly
• Ensure that all machine changes are carried out correctly and promptly
• Advise on the most productive use of machinery
• Assist in the investigation of complaints, both internally and externally, and help in the prevention of recurrences
• Complete all documentation as required by GMP, including filling in machine logs and maintaining a file of machine repairs and modifications
• Assist in the preparation of quotations by providing relevant information and guidance
• Attend and input into the daily scheduling meetings
• Assist with training and the preparation of training programmes when required
• Ensure that the Planned Preventative Maintenance System is implemented and followed
• Ensure that the stock of authorised spares is maintained and advise on spares that are required

Skills & Competencies:

• Extensive engineering experience within a production environment

• Proactive in developing improvements to benefit line efficiencies

Relationships:

The position reports directly into the Engineering Manager. The Engineer has a direct working relationship with the management of Production, Customer Services and Warehouse. These relationships are critical to the success of the business.
