Job Description

EBAD is seeking an Electronics Product (Manufacturing) Engineer with experience working in a manufacturing environment. The Product Engineer will be responsible for evaluating designs for manufacturability and leading development of new products into production. Candidate will have key areas of expertise in analyzing user requirements, mechanical design, tool design, and manufacturing cell layout.

Responsibilities:

This position supports and reports directly to the Product Engineering Lead.  The Product Engineer (PE) is the technical lead on internal and external projects and is responsible for all technical and schedule aspects of the project/product throughout the production life cycle. Primary duties include:

• Development and maintenance of manufacturing documentation (including manufacturing instructions, routings, process specifications and tooling) as well as product testing requirements and methods. 
• Providing continuity during transitions from proposals to production by acting as the main technical liaison between the customer and EBAD.
• Solving manufacturing problems, investigating process failures and implementing corrective actions
• Coordination with other departments to ensure the production viability of new designs, creation of the required documentation, and internal and customer approval of documentation.
• Interface with production personnel including operators, quality inspectors, and shop floor supervisors.
• Implementation of Lean methodologies including standard work, point of use tooling, material presentation and process improvements.
• Development of automated test fixtures and assembly tools
• Development of layouts of manufacturing cell design including tooling, machinery and equipment.
• Creation of Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
• Technical compliance and risk assessment
• Creating standard work and contributing to manufacturing cell planning
• Tracking status and ensuring completion of operations milestones and tasks for production programs

Requirements:

The successful candidate must have a BS/MS in an engineering discipline, preferably 3-5 years of mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering with experience in multi-part mechanisms and mechanical assemblies. Additionally, it is desired that the candidate has experience in the following areas:

• Knowledge of space vehicle mechanisms and systems
• CAD, 3-D modeling, assembly creation, drawings and GD&T.
• Design of tooling and fixtures
• Design for Manufacturing methods and techniques
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
• Formal problem analysis and resolution
• Project management skills with the ability to document, plan, and execute programs
• Working with aerospace products and processes.
• Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing practices
• Enterprise/Manufacturing Resource Planning (ERP/MRP) systems.
• MS Office– Excel, Word and Powerpoint.  Familiar with and able to work in MS Project.

What Machine Operation contributes to Cardinal Health?

Manufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment.

Machine Operation sets up and operates a variety of machine tools to load bags for AeroMed kits, using computers to input information in order to create bags with correctly printed information for medical testing kits. Interprets blueprints, sketches, and specifications; determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required. Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
 

Job Summary

The Operator 1, Machines Operations is responsible for the operation and troubleshooting of machines within the facility. The job will delegate replenishment duties to associates when needed along with following directions and ensuring the output quality of the product.
 

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred

• 0 - 1 years related experience preferred

• Ability to consistently lift 50 Ibs and be able to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift of 8 hours or more required for lifting boxes of bags and other items

• Must be able to work overtime with little to no advance notice

• Adherence to site safety regulations including wearing required personal protective equipment; accountable to Cardinal Health’s EHS as well as QRA policies and procedures.

• Aptitude to work in a fast-paced distribution environment while meeting hourly established quotas and performance standards 

Responsibilities

• Operates simple in-house machines on the production line, including utilizing computer for data input for machine.

• Conducts quality checks on the products.

• Documents applicable information regarding product quality and machine performance.

• Maintains simple machines and performs general trouble shooting if needed.

• Sets up and calibrates machines as necessary.

• Reporting safety hazards within the work environment.

• Maintains a clean and uncluttered work area.

Job Description

The Production Manager is responsible to comprehensively plan and manage the execution of daily production activities required to support development programs within the Energetic Assemblies Value Stream. This position manages technicians and planning personnel. The Production Manager oversees these roles in the logistics, coordination and execution of all tasks associated with product manufacturing.

Principal duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Developing the production schedules and maintaining the production visual board in each area, illustrating the status of the production activities for current programs.
• Monthly assessment of technician and equipment resource loading / capacity planning utilizing MS project or MS Excel.
  • Presentation of forward-looking capacity in all production areas, with identification of bottlenecks and shortages, to site leadership at monthly SIOP meeting.
  • Conducting manpower planning to ensure alignment of resources needed to execute yearly backlog & proposed production requirements.
• Creating the plan for the weekly work required to be flowing through the production cells, and tracking team productivity against the planned work.
• Ensuring team objectives are met and visible through the use of SQDC boards.
• Driving the execution of corrective actions and identification of systemic issues.
• Presenting production area performance (SQDC and Program Status) to senior management on the Gemba walk
• Coordinating team activities to brief site operations leadership at Quarterly Operating Reviews.
• Presenting forward-looking capacity for team at recurring SIOP reviews.
• Ensuring alignment with the Product Engineering Lead to provide program execution oversight and guidance.
• Working with other Production Managers, Product Engineers, Production Planner and Buyers to ensure material flow and production activities are aligned.
• Working with Supply Chain group to establish and maintain stocking strategies and effective material kanbans.
• Executing proper material issuances and production reporting to ensure floor stock accuracy for team.
• Providing leadership and coaching to direct reports.
• Maintaining team development and training plans.
• Evaluating production activities for continuous improvement opportunities.

Requirements:

• BS Degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, an Engineering Discipline, Business Administration or equivalent.
• Strong planning skills, with ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and assignments.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, verbally and in writing, to individuals at all levels and to cross-functional groups.
• Working knowledge of computer applications such as ERP/MRP, proficient in MS Office Suite: Project, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
• Ability to motivate people, particularly in a production workforce environment

Job Description

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for Linear Department personnel and Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost results while leading and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Candidate will work in coordination with Product Engineers, Production Planner, Assembly Production Supervisor and LTS Production Manager to ensure execution of tasks and milestones. 

Responsibilities: 

·        Ensures Safety of all Linear Department personnel and immediately addresses any safety concern. 

·        Ensures Quality of product built in the Linear Department and re-prioritizes work if product must be put on hold for quality department review/disposition. 

·        Achievement of Delivery and Cost goals in the Linear Department; ensuring adherence to standard work and manufacturing instructions. 

·        Leads continuous improvement efforts, including development of standard work, balancing of operator loading, execution of time studies and implementation of 6S initiatives. 

·        Leads manufacturing problem solving efforts, investigates process failures and implements corrective actions in support of all shifts. 

·        Implements Lean methodologies including point of use tooling, material presentation, waste elimination and process improvements. 

·        Trains and mentors assigned personnel on EBOS, ISO procedures, manufacturing documentation and continuous improvement. 

·        Supports Linear Transfer Systems team with production results tracking and identification / implementation of countermeasures to improve performance. 

·        Responsible for accurate time clock reporting of assigned personnel and timecard approvals. 

·        Ensures accuracy of inventory in production areas and supports weekly cycle counting of product. 

·        Interfaces with production personnel including operators, quality inspectors, and product engineers. 

Requirements: 

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of project, manufacturing or related engineering experience. Additionally, it is desired that the candidate has experience/education in the following areas: 

·        BS in an engineering/business discipline 

·        Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects 

·        Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems

·        Established project management skills with the ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs

·        Understanding of Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing practices and in-depth understanding ERP/MRP planning systems

·        Excellent verbal and presentation skills suitable for interaction with production team and with various level of management 

·        Design for Manufacturing methods and techniques

·        Strong skills in MS Windows – Excel, Word and Power-point.  Familiar with and able to work in MS Project.
