We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled marketing professional to join our corporate communications team.
With a council run castle, theatre and an annual programme of events Tamworth provides year-round entertainment, cultural, educational and celebration opportunities for residents and visitors.
As Senior Communications and Marketing Officer you will play a key role in communicating and marketing to key audiences locally, regionally, and nationally through the development and delivery of creative and engaging marketing campaigns that promote council services.
Applicants need to have a marketing/media qualification or extensive broad marketing experience, which includes everything from digital and social media, to traditional print advertising. Knowledge of audience development is essential.
This is a varied role which will suit an adaptable, creative and highly organised individual, proficient at managing multiple projects and working with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
A significant proportion of the role will focus on the promotion of Tamworth’s Arts and Heritage through Tamworth Assembly Rooms and Tamworth Castle, with the successful candidate spending approximately one day a week (regularly in the evening and at weekends) in each venue to develop content for all channels using a variety of methods, including video.

This is a home working contract, and the majority of duties will be carried out at home, however, as outlined above, there is a requirement to be at both the assembly rooms and castle one day a week. In addition, employees will be contractually required to attend site on two days per month for team meetings, 121 meetings, etc. Employees may also be required to attend a site for meetings, collaborative work or to undertake work related activities. Site attendance will constitute no more than 40% of working time and includes the contractual two days per month. It is estimated the successful candidate will spend approximately eight days month on site.
