About the role

Working as part of the Corserv Communications team, the Digital Comms Manager will build a positive reputation for Corserv Solutions, helping to increase the reach and impact through the delivery of high quality web, intranet and wider digital activity, contributing to the satisfaction and engagement of service users and staff.

In role you will support the operational divisions with the development of clear communications strategies and plans, promoting good digital practice and digital consultation; wider engagement activities, and both managing & developing digital content across a range of platforms (working closely with business colleagues to deliver an integrated and outcome-focused approach).

You will also:

develop, maintain and improve Corserv’s internet and intranet sites, including producing (and acting on) performance reports and developing the services, while monitoring and applying accessibility standards to webpages and intranet pages
provide management of website analytics to increase exposure in line with SEO good practice
lead on and/ or participate in specific IT projects that support communications
contribute to and help implement Corserv’s communications strategies and materials, particularly those in the digital space
enhance corporate brand management
provide digital support and print ready design for key internal & external exhibitions/ events and merchandise
develop and maintain a Communication Sharepoint site
provide specialist advice and guidance to services on the development of web content and graphics, including for new business areas
ensure a proactive approach to external and internal communications through development and positive use of forward communications plans, holding regular meetings with staff across the group
About you

To be successful as Digital Communications Manager, we are looking for you to demonstrate:

relevant professional qualifications in IT/Media with post-qualification experience in a large organisation and/ or demonstrate equivalent knowledge from experience working in an IT or media environment (with experience of design in web based communications)
up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the use of the internet/ intranet as a key communication channel, including specific knowledge of content management systems and editorial policies
experience of the use of web and social media to support multichannel communication strategies – both internal and external
appropriate experience of photography, shooting video and video editing to support production of materials
knowledge and experience of graphic design, infographics and template design to support production of relevant company documents, such as annual reports and business plans
comprehensive knowledge of developing and maintaining internet and intranet content management, including the ability to show flair for high quality web page design, content and presentation

Working Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday - Friday)

Contract Type: Permanent (or fixed term contract considered)

Base: This role is hybrid (working from home and office) with Bodmin as base when office working, but with regular travel to locations across Cornwall required

TheSpecialist Unified Communications Engineeris a senior member of the Technical Services team responsible for design, architecture and support of the data and voice network infrastructure. You are expected to be highly skilled and experienced in advanced technologies to also supportandmaintainalloperationalactivitiesof the networkenvironment.



Thepostholderwill reporttotheUnified Communications teamleader andcollaboratedirectlywithothermemberswithin the teamandtechnical servicesdepartment.

Responsible for maintaining infrastructure at high levels of availability, focused on improving infrastructure reliability and addressing recurring issues by recommending and implementing system improvements in line with internal change controls. This is a primary requirement to focus on the day-to-day business as usualdata and voice network infrastructure.

Responsible for completing all assigned tickets within the IT service management system in line with service level agreements and escalating any likely breaches.

Installation, configuration and support of infrastructure equipment.

Technical design and planning of IT architecture.

Responsible for capacity planning, ensuring sufficient resource exist to maintain access to systems in a highly available state.

Responsible for providing technical expertisewithinthe Trusts ITInfrastructurewith expertise:

Local and Wide Area Networking

Wireless LAN infrastructure

Voice communication systems

Load balancing

Cyber Security

Data cabling

Managing infrastructure updates and upgrades with minimal impact.

Lead in the design of future network and security infrastructure environments.

Proactive engagement with projects, providing technical support and ensuring the most efficient use of limited resources.

Work closely with the security team to deal with security related incidents.

Participate in regular on call rota.

Join Babcock as a Communications Engineering Apprentice and enter the innovative world of IT and communication systems as you build the skills needed for an exciting future in communications engineering.

About the programme
On this 3-year apprenticeship programme, you'll get to work on all types of communication equipment, IT and computer networks, repairing and restoring vital communication systems and services for our customers.
During this time, you will earn a competitive apprentice wage, gain technical experience in the workplace and obtain academic qualifications.

Working onsite with engineering mentors, you'll learn about the key components required to provide a robust and reliable communication system, whilst gaining multiple technical skills including:

• Fault finding and component replacement
• Soldering
• Testing and measuring
• Equipment maintenance
• System set up and maintenance
• Equipment calibration
• You'll perform maintenance on communications systems, carry out performance tests, complete fault diagnosis and repair communication systems. You'll also support in the development of new systems and customer projects, alongside expert communications engineers.

Once you have successfully completed your apprenticeship, you'll become a qualified Communications Engineer playing a critical role within our Communications Engineering team ensuring that systems meet the required level of service.

Your education/training:

• As part of the structured training programme, you will gain qualifications that will help you on your way to becoming a qualified Communications Engineer.
• You'll attend formal BTEC training courses every 6 weeks on subjects such as Electronics, Mathematics, Computer Systems and Telecommunications.

During your apprenticeship, you will be focused on completing your Level 3 Radio Network Technician Apprenticeship. You will also work towards gaining a Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Telecommunications and a Level 3 Advanced Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles.

What you'll need

• A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at C/4 grade including English and Maths at Grade B/6.
• 2 A Levels at grade C or above (or equivalent) - Maths and Science are desirable, but not essential.
• You will need to demonstrate a passion for engineering and a proactive approach to problem solving. You will be able to work well in a team, communicate with others well, possess good organisational skills and have excellent attention to detail.
