We are looking for a creative and driven charity communications and marketing manager who is passionate about health charities and the NHS to join our ambitious NHS charity team.
You'll be part of a fabulous team with responsibility for supporting a variety of income streams and helping us build our brand locally to become the local charity of choice.
You'll help improve patients' lives by bringing some good into a difficult time, supporting people to raise money to help provide the hospitals with the life-saving equipment, cutting-edge technology, research and innovation that can transform the healthcare available to your friends and family, when they need it most.
This role does require you to have a full UK driving licence & access to vehicle.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and deliver a robust charity communications function providing support to ESNEFT Charity
• Develop, lead, plan and implement creative communications plans for fundraising campaigns and specific projects. This includes promoting the work of the charity through public relations, digital communications, linking with media relations, marketing and brand development. It will require liaison with managers and staff to identify the key messages for individual campaigns and deciding how to present these using a variety of media and to a range of external audiences.
• Manage specific projects as delegated by the Associate Director of Charity and support the Head of Fundraising and Marketing and/or other members of charity staff as required.
• Educate and communicate our charity brand principles to both internal and external audiences appropriately, keeping it at the heart of all marketing initiatives
• Help develop charity brand principles, including visual identity and tone of voice
• Enhance and protect the reputation of the charity through effective and timely communications activity targeted at a large range of internal and external audiences.

• Commission, write, edit, proof read, co-ordinate complex external publications, fundraising packs and other materials; assist with writing press releases and articles; oversee print and distribution.
• Respond to media enquiries, brief journalists, manage press conferences, photo calls and the media on-site during visits when necessary.
• Develop and manage the charity’s social media accounts
• In consultation with the hospital communications team, attend press and media briefings that relate to the activities of the charity.
• Provide expert charity communications support and PR advice to colleagues and the charity team.
• Assist in the development of effective plans to manage, monitor and deliver projects to challenging timescales and budget.
• Play an active role in the Charity’s communications / media management in the event of a major incident and in emergency planning.
• Help to research, write, edit, proof read and coordinate core internal communication documents to ensure the charity is well represented internally. This will require the post holder to proactively communicate messages and engage staff in identifying fundraising/donation and ‘good news’ stories.
• Ensure successful completion of these internal publications within tight deadlines.
• Ensure the website is maintained with current information to represent the charity and manage social media feeds. Ensure that key messages are clear and that any forthcoming events or fundraising activities are well promoted.
• Monitor press coverage
• Process any media enquiries in line with the Trust Media Policy, noting relevant information so that colleagues can respond quickly and effectively, escalating quickly where these are urgent.
• Escort members of the media when on site.
• Work constructively with partner organisation communications teams to ensure constructive and cost effective communication campaigns in relation to joint projects or initiatives.
• Undertake any other duties, which might reasonably be required commensurate with the post of Communications & Marketing Manager.
• Undertake regular reviews of literature and information to ensure it reflects the needs of the charity and its core values.
• Analyse and interpret complex facts and situations and consider options for communicating to different audiences.
• Develop and implement PR plans and campaigns, ensuring any communications represents the charity’s core values and strategic vision.
• Attend fundraising activities and events as part of the wider fundraising team to encourage donations and ensure that all PR opportunities are maximised.
• The post holder will be expected to work independently under their own initiative and act as lead specialist for some communications campaigns.
