Job Summary
BASIC FUNCTION
HCSC is looking for a dynamic Senior Communications Consultant to join its team!
This position is responsible for developing and writing business articles for the employee internal newsletter (Blue News) to amplify the enterprise business plan, strategic focus and corporate objectives. The primary focus will be on subjects covering Medicare, Medicaid, Network, Commercial Markets, Pharmacy and Corporate Strategy. This position will require using the Smart Brevity writing style and the individual will execute communications to meet the needs of multiple audiences through interaction with clients and management at all levels of the corporation. Incumbent also drafts, edits and supervises communications (print, web, etc.) to be distributed to employees and acts as a mentor to other team members.
NOTE: relocation will not be extended, sponsorship is not offered; this role is hybrid/flex requiring in-office attendance three days per week ~
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Public Relations or Communications with 7 years' experience in copy development, editing and print project management OR 11 years’ experience in copy development and editing.
- Leadership skills to mentor staff, handle escalated issues and assist management.
- Project management experience and skills to lead projects and handle multiple projects with shifting deadlines simultaneously.
- Work well under pressure with short deadlines.
- Verbal and written communications skills to interact with clients with confidence, develop an array of communications to various audiences, and influence the decision making process.
- Verbal communications skills to handle sensitive, confidential information and handle department issues with appropriateness and sensitivity while influencing positive outcomes.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations or Communications.
- Expert in AP Style.
- On-camera experience.
- Experience navigating large organizations.
