This role would suit an individual who has previous experience in a support type role and has been part of a team that has provided procurement support or potentially an individual that has worked in a contract management area. Use of e procurement tender portals is an advantage, the council uses Proactis, so any experience in this system would be an advantage. Experience of procuring or managing frameworks or having a general understanding of how frameworks or dynamic purchasing systems work would be beneficial. Core office hours will need to be worked, the majority of the work will be remote with occasional office working days or meetings in Southampton Civic Centre. The contract offered is for 3 days per week, the clientis flexible and would be happy to discuss the working days, but working some days earlier in the week will be part of the requirement.

• The candidate will need to have experience of procurement legislation and it would be desirable to have experience of working on property, consultancy, affordable housing and procurements involving development agreements.

• Working closely with key business stakeholders, identify and implement appropriate procurement strategies to meet service area requirements from assisting with needs analysis through to completion of the full tender and evaluation process.

General Duties To work as a member of the procurement team participating in the development and implementation of customers procurement strategies by ensuring it is communicated, understood and supported by budget managers and stakeholders, so achieving the departments objectives and ensuring commercial arrangements are optimised. Supported review and development of selected areas of non-pay spend and the planning, design and implementation of best value-for-money contracts and most cost-effective internal logistics arrangements. Aligning all tasks with WPL Strategy. Assist with the commercial management of procurement process with responsibility for a defined selection of projects, working directly with the managers, budget managers, project leads and finance staff. Support procurement processes by identifying and evaluating best value for money. Negotiate with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure compliant and resilient route to market. Engage and contribute to the successful performance of the organisation. Deliver excellent levels of customer service, respond to queries and complaints promptly. Liaise with Stakeholders to resolve the matter. Communicate with project leads, management and end users listening to stakeholders feedback and reporting any impacts to the team while using your operational networks to raise the profile of the Wessex NHS Procurement Limited team and its value. Support the procurement team culture of collaborative, flexible cross-team working and commitment to delivering quality services and outcomes, which maintain the Governments policies on public health. The positions are Monday - Friday (37.5 hrs per week). The successful candidates will be required to travel to multiple sites with some flexibility to work from home or office as per the needs of the business. You will lead on a portfolio of procurement contracts and projects across various category areas and be responsible for the purchase of goods, works and services. You will foster a professional and responsive client service and build collaborative relationships with stakeholders to deliver work plans. Youll work closely with Procurement Managers and others within the team to deliver on a challenging cost improvement programme by implementing change, collaborating suppliers and identifying opportunities to drive greater value.
