Connect Appointments have a new opportunity for a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to join our manufacturing client in Falkirk.
This is a full-time permanent position where your focus will be on ensuring our client's products meet customers' expectations in relation to quality, reliability, safety and delivery. For this you will be rewarded with a competitive salary of £35,000 to £39,000 per annum - depending on experience.
Working as a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer, your duties and responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Ability to read Engineering drawings
- Implement Root Cause Corrective Actions by using the required Quality tools
- Must be able to interact with customers and represent the company at all times
- Maintain Quality Records; carrying out internal and external audits and generate Audit reports
- Support the planned monthly output of Vehicles and customer targets
- Support Quality and Operations in eliminating recurring defects
- Support the closure of customer issues (RQI) where required
- Participate and Chair Quality led meetings to drive continual improvement
- Provide required support to external build partners where required
- Awareness of Business Management System processes, policies and where this fits into a successful business
- Understand ISO9001 certification and maintenance and how this directly influences the decisions made by you and the company
- Liaise with Internal and External departments on Supplier related issues
- Raise Supplier Corrective Action Request to document non-conformances and manage Corrective Actions
- Compile Quality measures (KPI) to track supplier performance and identify trends; working with the Supply Base to Continually Improve our Product and avoid repeat future failures
- Identify early part-life failure and escalate through organisation to minimise business impact
- Arrange and manage on-site rework being carried out by suppliers and contractors
- Carry out Initial Sample Inspection Reports, audits of documents and parts
- Facilitate Supplier meetings and visits to drive improvements in Quality performance; being able to travel on occasions to complete Site and/or Supplier's support or audits
To be successful within this quality role you will ideally have previous experience working in a manufacturing, or similar environment, with a focus on quality and standards. Combined with the following skills, traits and experience:
- Ability to work within a team and interact with all levels of the business
- Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Be computer literate, Microsoft Office Packages and ideally use of Q-Pulse
- Ability to work using own initiative and make decisions on quality standards
- Awareness of Spray-Painting techniques - advantage but not essential
- Be a trained Auditor to ISO9001:2015, minimum Internal Auditing but ideally Lead Auditing
- Experience in use of Quality tools and techniques, would be advantageous. (PPAP, 8D, DFMEA, PFMEA and have a strong problem solving and analytical skillset)
