As our Head of Nursing & Quality, you will provide operational line management and professional leadership to nursing and AHP teams, ensuring the highest standards across the hospice; in partnership with the Head of Operations you will also support our community nursing teams. You will be instrumental in the ongoing development and management of governance processes across services, ensuring that our staff and volunteers uphold the highest standards. You will also play a critical role in service design, ensuring the voices of our patients and those important to them are heard. This role is based on-site at our Bradford Hospice Role responsibilities - Direct line management of nursing and AHP leads, clinical education lead, and research lead across the region. - As operational lead for hospice nursing and AHP teams, ensure that all staff have appropriate personal development plans in place. - Support the hospice nursing and AHP team to deliver robust and effective staff management including regular reviews of appraisal, sickness, rostering and other metrics. - Support the nursing and AHP managers to develop effective strategies for recruitment and retention including the creation of novel roles where appropriate. - To ensure day to day practice reflects the highest standards of leadership, safety, responsiveness, effectiveness, and patient and patient and family experience . - Act as a positive role model for all staff through the demonstration of strong leadership and clinical credibility - Working with the local lead for safeguarding, ensure policies and processes are in place and adhered to. - Oversee management of sickness and capability of hospice nursing and AHP staff and work alongside HR to ensure effective monitoring and planning is in place. - Ensure that a shared vision and the aims of joint working are developed across the Place Based Team. - Takes personal responsibility for the ensuring appropriate investigation of serious complaints and incidents including appropriate delegation and supervision. - Ensuring all staff are engaged with reporting and learning from incidents, complaints and compliments. - Takes responsibility for the management and improvement of systems and processes relating to complaints and incidents management. Pay : £14.87 phr
Working hours: Continental shift pattern

* Collect samples of product from Manufacturing
* Carry out standardised analytical tests on batches, charge up samples, finished
product, stock holds & complaint samples. Interpret results, understanding brix
(sugar) and pH levels & communicate to production or appropriate personnel.
* Carry out standardised analytical tests of raw materials including mineral water
and comminute
* Set up of HPLC instrumentation
* Using standardised calculations determine, recommend & recheck material
adjustments for the IPC.
* Use the Manufacturing Execution System to release syrup batches to production
* Taste testing of all finished goods batches, identifying issues where appropriate
* Follow standardised procedures to determine acid and brix levels in customer
complaints and report on findings.
* Following standardised procedures test chemical oxygen demand (COD) and pH
levels of environmental samples
* Check packaging and coding against specifications using SAP system,
communicate results & ensure extra checks are carried out if failures have been
determined. Identify product to be held if out of specification.
* Organise storage of retained samples & ensure housekeeping in both Laboratory
& keeper room is maintained to a high standard.
* Use Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for recording of analytical results &
comply with all other documentation systems as referred to in the procedure
manuals.

Candidate responsibilities:

• Conduct regular inspections and surveillance to ensure compliance with quality requirements and produce reports of findings. Follow through on findings to satisfactory closure.
• Provide expertise to document originators in the formation of Inspection and Test Plans and BIM 360 Field checklists.
• Collaborate with project teams to identify potential quality risks and implement preventive measures.
• Maintain accurate records of quality-related activities, including inspection reports, test results, and non-conformance instances.
• Collaborate with Integrations Teams to proactively work on EiS, AMP and Health and Safety Files.
• Support the development of quality-related training materials for alliance-wide dissemination.
• Investigate and analyse non-conformance incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective action and identify trends.

• Monitor progressive assurance of ITPs by the delivery teams to ensure that checklists and quality verifying records are being created contemporaneously.

• Support delivery of H&S Files within site teams.
• Provide training to project teams on quality standards, processes, and tools.

Candidate requirements:

• Graduate in relevant discipline OR professional qualification (e.g. CQI Diploma (Level 5)).
• Membership of the CQI or other relevant professional body.
• Internal Auditor
• Proven experience within a live rail environment with similar complexity and risk, sufficient to understand and review end to end processes and propose quality improvements.
• Ability to form effective working relationships with Stakeholders
• Network rail experience would be advantageous
