An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Research & Development Directorate to join us as a Research Nurse working on our Cardiovascular portfolio. You will be responsible for delivering and clinically managing your own portfolio of academic and commercial research studies in Cardiology and Stroke and also providing research support to investigators. This post will enable you to gain clinical knowledge and skills around a variety of specialist conditions through working closely with the consultants and specialist nurses and multi-disciplinary teams.

A central part of the role will be to ensure that you provide excellent research monitoring and care to patients who have consented to participate in research and that the research/clinical teams you work with are appropriately trained, supported and developed within their professional/research roles. An important aspect of the role will be the maintenance of highly accurate and comprehensive records of data derived from the research studies.

Within this post you will develop processes and systems for maximising the recruitment of patients to academic and commercial studies and will ensure that research patients/participants are monitored, supported and receive the highest level of research nursing care. You will work across a range of studies including observational research, novel drug therapy and clinical interventions. Under the direction of the Lead Consultants, Team Leader and Senior Research Nurses you will coordinate the clinical aspects of trials, participate in the recruitment and follow up of patients with responsibility for the assessment, planning and on-going care and safety of the research participants throughout their study journey. The post holder will be required to work autonomously with supervision and guidance of the Team Leader and Senior Research Nurses.

The Research Fellow will bring their research skills, experience and knowledge to support the aims of AHDRC, of growing the research capacity and culture within Aberdeen City Council. This post is a part of the NIHR Aberdeen Health Determinants Research Collaboration (AHDRC). The NIHR Aberdeen Health Determinants Research Collaboration is funded initially for 5 years by the National Institute for Health and Care Research, with the aim of supporting Aberdeen City Council to develop a research active culture to help improve the health and well-being for Aberdeen’s communities. Lead by Aberdeen City Council, the AHDRC’s key partners are the University of Aberdeen, NHS Grampian, Robert Gordon University. This post will receive academic support and supervision from the University of Aberdeens’s Health Economics Research Unit and the Health Services Research Unit, and be part of a wider interdisciplinary team who will drive forward the AHDRC’s aims. The NIHR Aberdeen Health Determinants Research Collaboration is funded initially for 5 years by the National Institute for Health and Care Research, with the aim of supporting Aberdeen City Council to develop a research active culture to help improve the health and well-being for Aberdeen’s communities. Job Description

A vacancy has arisen in our Planning Information and Delivery Team for an Information and Research Officer.

The post offers a variety of information and research work in support of colleagues in Planning and Economy and other Council Services, dealing with a wide range of challenging issues for the Council and its partners.

You will contribute to maintaining a corporate information and research capability based within Planning and Economy.

You should have a relevant degree, research and data analysis skills, a high level of computer literacy and the ability to manage complex databases, evaluate information and prepare reports. Customer service is an important aspect of the team’s work.

Relevant experience in the public sector, private sector, or academia would be advantageous, as would be knowledge and experience of data sets relating to the labour market and specific sectors of the economy.

Research Department

The Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust has a well-established research infrastructure running in excess of 300 studies across many specialities across the three Trust sites and also provides an outreach research service into the community. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Research & Development Directorate to join us as a Research Nurse working on our Cardiovascular portfolio. You will be responsible for delivering and clinically managing your own portfolio of academic and commercial research studies in Cardiology and Stroke and also providing research support to investigators. This post will enable you to gain clinical knowledge and skills around a variety of specialist conditions through working closely with the consultants and specialist nurses and multi-disciplinary teams.

A central part of the role will be to ensure that you provide excellent research monitoring and care to patients who have consented to participate in research and that the research/clinical teams you work with are appropriately trained, supported and developed within their professional/research roles. An important aspect of the role will be the maintenance of highly accurate and comprehensive records of data derived from the research studies.

Within this post you will develop processes and systems for maximising the recruitment of patients to academic and commercial studies and will ensure that research patients/participants are monitored, supported and receive the highest level of research nursing care. You will work across a range of studies including observational research, novel drug therapy and clinical interventions. Under the direction of the Lead Consultants, Team Leader and Senior Research Nurses you will coordinate the clinical aspects of trials, participate in the recruitment and follow up of patients with responsibility for the assessment, planning and on-going care and safety of the research participants throughout their study journey. The post holder will be required to work autonomously with supervision and guidance of the Team Leader and Senior Research Nurses.

Job Description

An opportunity has arisen in our Performance Management Unit in the Education and Children's Service for a skilled and motivated data analyst and Research Officer.

The post offers a variety of information and research work in support of colleagues in Education and Children's Services dealing with a wide range of internal and external performance management requirements and requests.

The post holder will work as part of the team to support the Service Performance Management Framework responding to data analysis requirements. The post holder will be integral to the Scottish Government data collections, including the annual census returns.

You should have a relevant degree, research and data analysis skills, a high level of computer literacy and the ability to manage complex databases, evaluate information and prepare reports using various tools including Power BI. Relevant experience in the public sector, private sector, or academia would be advantageous, as would be knowledge and experience of data sets relating to Scottish Government data collections.
