Required for January 2025, an enthusiastic, well-qualified TEACHER OF COMPUTER SCIENCE to join a strong department in a vibrant and supportive school. Computer Science is taught by an enthusiastic and specialist team who embrace new challenges to build upon the department’s popularity with pupils. We are looking for a Science Technician to provide support for our large, thriving and well-equipped Science department. The successful candidate will play an important role in giving students a wide variety of educational experiences in their Science lessons. The Animal Welfare and Science department are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic and self-motivated candidates who have a passion for animal welfare and supporting the development of learners in a college environment to join the team. The successful candidate will be confident in the welfare, husbandry and handling of a range of animals, from small mammals and reptiles to livestock and equids. You will need to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the animals at all times.
The ideal candidate will have a calm working approach, be able to multi-task and have the ability to ‘think on their feet’. A friendly and approachable candidate will need to communicate with staff, learners and visitors to the animal park. During term time, our Animal Welfare and Science technicians work very closely with a range of learners in the department, so an ability and willingness to work with medium / large groups of learners is key to this role.
Successful candidates will be encouraged to complete the Level 3 teacher training qualification to support their delivery to learners in this role.

Located in Greenfaulds High School, Cumbernauld you will provide a support service to the Science Department. Your duties will include servicing of Science Laboratories, construction of simple apparatus, maintenance of stock records, preparation of materials for class use, comply with Health and Safety legislation and general Science Technician duties.

You must possess an SVQ3, HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant science subject along with extended experience of working in a science environment with scientific equipment and knowledge of Science Health and Safety Legislation. Good communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work with others as part of a team or on your own initiative and work closely and responsibly with children. Possession of an HND or equivalent is desirable, as is possession of relevant qualifications in other areas i.e. Computing, Electronics, Electrical.

This role is part time. Working days are Monday, Tuesday and alternate Fridays (7 hours per day).

This post is temporary until 25.6.2025.

Our Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £14.28 an hour; this increases to £15.41 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location and skills.
