The Science Technician will be required to offer technical support to the science department's teachers, ensuring the department operates smoothly. They must ensure that all equipment functions correctly and safely for practical science lessons. An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic and motivated Breast Oncology Research Nurse to join our busy research team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.

We are looking for a nurse who has experience of working within oncology and has a drive to work autonomously in delivering new and innovative trials for the breast patients.

You will need to be a registered nurse, with some knowledge of the breast pathway.

Enthusiasm, self-motivation, flexibility and drive will be required to ensure the success of this post. You will be involved in all aspects of the research process from study start-up, recruitment and delivery to close out of a study. You will need to have an excellent level of written and verbal communication skills. Good IT skills are advantageous. You will work in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, implementing studies to translate scientific discoveries into improved patient outcomes.

You will ideally have experience of clinical research, though this is not essential for the role as all training will be provided. You will undergo a comprehensive induction and full research delivery training with ongoing training in a supportive environment. We are interested in applicants with good clinical experience and a keen willingness to learn. The primary objective of the post-holder is to support in the management, co-ordination and facilitation of oncology research studies. In addition to clinic/patient based tasks, this role includes document generation and control, project tracking and logistics, data collection, receiving of informed consent, adherence to the Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Research Governance and assisting in the continued improvement in the care of research participants and quality of research data.
