The Research Study Coordinator manages clinical tests, collects data, and recruits and manages subjects for clinical trials while providing high-level technical support of projects in a comprehensive research setting. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Manages Clinical Tests and Collects Data

• Collects and analyzes data, educates, and interacts with study participants and leadership
• Provides detailed and summary information and recommendations for further actions based on the data analysis
• Manages implementation, control and reporting on clinical tests
• Implements data collection and monitors protocols for difficult clinical research studies
• Administers or monitors administration of tests and measurements required by project design

• Oversees, screens, and evaluates recruitment of candidates for clinical research studies via telephone and/or in person
• Uses objective rating techniques to identify potential candidates for participation in study where project design is complex
• Performs informed consent process throughout the study and continuously educates participants on study processes and procedures
• Performs day-to-day activities related to conducting and overseeing participant interviews and follow-up
• Coordinates study participant randomization to treatment, works closely with the Research Pharmacy on study drug provision

• Assists supervisor with managing the routine, day-to-day activities, and administration of the project
• Plans, develops, completes, and submits on time all required documentation/ paperwork/forms for initial and continuing human subject's review
• Analyzes processes and documentation to ensure compliance with all technical, regulatory requirements, and information safety regulations
• Conducts quality assurance evaluations for project data and clinical research instruments, as applicable. Establishes and monitors remediation plans to correct deficiencies
• Drafts detailed and summary reports for presentation at meetings and conferences and for publication in peer reviewed journals
• Compiles and produces educational and training materials; determines contents needed for training binders and tools

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Job Description:

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Provide a wide array of support for community-based evaluation projects including participant recruitment, tracking and retention, data collection within required timeframes,

data entry, database maintenance, and provision of ongoing internal and external reports.

This role will also assist the evaluator in the dissemination and utilization of evaluation information and other grant requirements.

Research Planning and Management

Participate as an active team member in the planning, implementation and maintenance of grant projects (e.g., provide project management assistance, provide ongoing information for project improvement and model fidelity, etc.).

Serve as a liaison between grant officials, program staff, and the evaluation team

Data Collection, Management, and Analysis

Ensures that all data are collected and submitted as required by funding agencies (e.g., follow-up percentages met, databases developed, data entered and cleaned within time requirements).

Competent in the use of personal computers and software (i.e. Excel, Access, SPSS, Atlas ti) Able to perform basic qualitative and/or quantitative data analysis

Writing and Dissemination

Able to communicate clearly and effectively with staff, supervisors and others

Possesses organizational and project management skills to maintain records and coordinate other tasks.

Skilled in speaking and writing to persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.

You will manage program evaluations for federally-funded, state-funded, or contracted evaluation services, including developing and implementing evaluation protocols and databases, preparing IRB applications, and disseminating evaluation reports/presentations. You will work closely with the Project Director and other program staff to achieve programmatic goals and objectives, and to address any barriers to achieving project goals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the capacity to work effectively independently and within a team, while managing responsibilities and prioritizing tasks in an environment with overlapping activities and multiple competing priorities. Additionally, Evaluation Associates will provide training and supervision of evaluation staff including Research Associates, Evaluation Associates, or interns. Successful Evaluation Associates at this level will lead discussions about evaluation design with the Project Director, take on expansive leadership responsibilities based on their experience, and contribute to the Institute as a whole in workgroups and other public presentations.

Position Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred) in social sciences, mental health, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in program evaluation or applied research, preferably with advanced project management experience
• Advanced knowledge of behavioral sciences and program evaluation approaches and methods
• Familiarity with protections for human subjects in research, diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Knowledge of federal regulations pertaining to human research subjects and Institutional Review Board (IRB) operations
• Advanced understanding of data management and analysis software and methods (eg. Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SPSS, REDCap, Atlas ti)
• Effectively supervise at least 1 direct report

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Research Planning and Organizing

• Participate as an active team member or team leader in the planning, implementation and maintenance of evaluations (e.g., provide project management leadership, provide ongoing information for project improvement and model fidelity, etc.)
• Manage timelines for grant scopes and deliverables
• Provide oversight of IRB activities related to applications, amendments, and continuing reviews
• Design/ Implement/ Execute fidelity monitoring protocols
• Serve as a liaison between grant officials, program staff, and the evaluation team
• Data Collection, management, and analysis
• Prepare and submit IRB applications and amendments, and support junior staff in similar efforts
• Develop systems and ensure that all data are collected and submitted as required by funding agencies (e.g., follow-up percentages met, databases developed, data entered and cleaned within specific time requirements, etc.)
• Conduct and oversee quantitative or qualitative data analysis, and be skilled at effectively reporting and using data visualization
• Maintain security through password protection, encryption, and de-identification.

Data Reporting and Dissemination

• Prepare comprehensive internal and external reports in a timely and accurate manner
• Provide ongoing reports and presentations for program improvement efforts
• Facilitate the utilization of information by decision makers
• Write reports and create presentations on findings for internal and external dissemination, including conferences, publications, and for Centerstone grant applications​

Organizational Development

• May include managing at least 1 direct report (eg. providing performance appraisal and advocacy, approving timesheets, administrative functions, etc.)
• Manage the work of Research Associates or interns
• Train evaluation staff and supervisees including onboarding for new staff
• Participate or lead internal workgroups or committees that contribute to the overall success of the Program Evaluation Division, including workgroups supporting Key Performance Indicators
• Participate in internal workgroups and/or committees that contribute to the overall success and the Program Evaluation Division
