Your new roles

• Heavily involved in the completion of audit fieldwork/planned substantive and analytical audit procedures, normally on site at client premises

About the role:

CLA is looking to hire a Staff Accountant for our Outsourcing practice who can sit in our Century City office. Our Outsourcing service helps our clients transform their business with a collaborative approach that allows them to seamlessly mitigate risk, overcome challenges, meet deadlines, and identify personnel to help them with their workforce needs.

As a Staff Accountant, you will:

• Receive invoices from vendors. Diligently review and process using our accounting software and adhere to standard company procedures to document purchases.
• Review credit card statements and balances. Process high volume credit card statements with significant amounts of entries per month.
• Ensure efficient and timely processing of all transactions with client vendors.
• Perform all coding tasks, purchase order generation, and requisition deliveries according to company purchasing policies. Ensure accurate automated reports can be extracted from the information.
• Complete high volume account receivable, and accounts payable tasks such as: check runs, month end reconciliation, spending analysis and related administrative tasks as needed.
• Analyze discrepancies on invoices, and research to discover the source of the issue.
• Ensure all disbursements are correct and suggest procedure changes to mitigate future errors.
• Prepare and review payroll and payroll tax reporting.
• Complete non-complex and some complex account reconciliations and record transactions as part of the monthly, quarterly, and annual adjusting and closing process.
• Apply GAAP (FASB/SFAS) related to our clients’ specific industries.
• Prepare and review the general ledger, financial statements and required work papers.
• Assist with preparing and reviewing financial and statistical reports, analyzing for unusual items, and notifying team leaders when necessary.
• Gain a thorough understanding of the financial operations of industry specific engagements (i.e., entertainment, nonprofit, healthcare, manufacturing, etc.)
• Identify accounting errors, research technical issues, and proactively resolve issues.
• Assist with projects related to due diligence, system selection, and other consulting.

What you will need:

• Bachelor's degree is required. Combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
• Accounting and financial experience is preferred.  
• Experience with Family Office and High Net Worth clients strongly preferred.
• Aptitude to develop a thorough working knowledge of accounting software and systems, i.e., AgilLink, QuickBooks, Yardi, MRI, Timberline, Sage, Foundations.
• Proficiency with applicable software (including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
• Ability to travel to client sites.
• Strong organization skills/goal orientation/self-motivation.
• Ability to handle pressure in a positive professional manner.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Communication that is clear, concise, and considerate of the needs of others.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and value the different contributions people make.
• Proven success in managing work and key client relationships to exceed client expectations.

What You Will Do:
The Audit Remediation Specialist will use their accounting, auditing, business management, finance, data management, information systems and technology, or other relevant discipline to assist our client in the optimization of financial accounting and reporting processes, strengthening the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, and supporting key client organizations in their corrective action planning and mitigation strategies to meet the client's financial statement auditability objectives.
