GENERAL FUNCTION:
Senior financial decision maker with primary responsibility for the Bancorp's centralized reconciliation process. Manages specialized and complex processes and assignments to drive the development, implementation, and monitoring of reconciliation processes and controls. Assumes responsibility and accountability for directing and overseeing enterprise-wide initiatives and processes. Viewed as an expert with specialized knowledge of processing areas. Interacts with affiliate and division senior business and financial management leaders to promote achieving Bancorp objectives.

Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank’s risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees the Bancorp's centralized account reconciliation functions including ensuring compliance with reconciliation standards, automation of accounts on the Frontier automated reconciliation software, and managing the disposition of aged reconciling items.
- Oversees the reconciliations for all transaction-based accounts, including those used in Central and Investment Operations, Retail and other lines of business, as well as for all systems application accounts. Responsible for providing strategic direction, developing a scalable environment, building and developing a high performing team, and catalyzing organizational change through process improvements.
- Sets cross-functional objectives and priorities related to reconciliation controls. Sets the technical strategy within Centralized Reconciliation given enterprise and business objectives. Is accountable for the impacts of technical direction on other functional areas across the enterprise.
- Reduces financial risk by directing the design and performance of reconciliation and by promoting clearing and correction of process defects. Represents Centralized Reconciliations at the Senior Reconciliation Risk Committee.
- Leads and champions improvement opportunities in cross-functional and business-level relationships.
- Negotiates with organizational leadership to accomplish cross-functional objectives.
- Manages department resources and budget to ensure that reconciliations advance the company's ability to sustain growth.
- Contributes to the development of the Finance organization and Enterprise business strategy. Interprets business strategy and drives objectives for the enterprise. Responsible for multiple management levels.
- Anticipates complex business issues that impact the organization and provides strategic vision. Manages resources to ensure financial objectives are met within own area.
- Manages staff to ensure department advances the Bancorp's ability to excel in the Financial Services Industry.
- Recruits talent when necessary from inside and outside of the organization. Continual focus to ensure that the right people are in the right jobs.
- Ensures proper orientation - formal and informal - for all new employees.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for providing employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees accomplishments.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required.
- CPA or MBA Required.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of accounting or financial controls related experience, banking related experience required.
- Previous Management experience required.
- Considered a subject matter expert. Has in-depth business and industry expertise. Proficient in advanced spreadsheet applications such as Excel, Microsoft Word, etc. Demonstrated ability to learn and understand financial systems such as Hyperion and Frontier.
- Leverages relationships with key internal/external customers to support business needs.
- Anticipates complex business issues that impact own organization and provides strategic vision.
- Interprets business strategy and drives objectives for the enterprise.
- Negotiates with customer and/or organizational leadership to accomplish cross-functional objectives.
- Fosters collaboration by promoting cooperative goals and building trust. Strengthens others by sharing power and discretionary decision-making.
