An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Access to Personal Information Officer’s to join our Access to Children's Information team on a two year Fixed Term Contract.

The team is responsible for ensuring that the requirements of the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA) and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) are met, along with our statutory obligations in sharing information.

Main Responsibilities

You will:

• Conduct and coordinate the delivery of data subject rights, including rights of access, rectification and erasure regarding children’s social care records.
• Work through a significant volume of confidential documents, using IT software to redact, whilst maintaining attention to detail.
• Deal with requests from the public in a timely and consistent way with professionalism and empathy
• Provide necessary support to the requestor receiving their information, offering guidance throughout the process and the post release of files.
• Respond to requests for information from external agencies, including court orders, local authorities and other statutory or private organisations.
• Create summaries and chronologies from records in response to statutory checks.

What you'll bring:

• Detailed knowledge of Data Subject Rights in accordance with the DPA and GDPR.
• Experience in understanding the needs of vulnerable children/adults and the impact social care involvement may have had on them.
• Knowledge about safeguarding, including the ability to identity potential risks in releasing sensitive data.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proven computer skills including Microsoft Office packages.

• To provide administrative cover for the ward, and to perform general receptionist duties

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement – London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata).

To work flexibly to provide efficient, high quality secretarial, administrative and support services to the Consultant Psychiatrists and their medical colleagues as required and to maintain office cover. This will include the typing of letters and memoranda, emails, minutes, reports, presentations etc.

To maintain and upkeep registers etc., using database/spreadsheet applications, arrange investigation appointments for patients at the request of the Consultant and where appropriate, maintain a comprehensive investigation results file and ensure all results are brought to the attention of medical staff so that appropriate action can be taken. Working experience of RiO is essential for this role.

To act as first point of contact to clients, their family/carers, GP’s, consultants from other disciplines, CPNs other medical/professional staff, and professionals from other services and professional backgrounds. Some clients may present as anxious, or angry. Our patients and their carers need to be treated courteously, appropriately and efficiently.
