One aspect of the role will include driving clients regularly, therefore it is preferred for candidates to be in possession of a full UK driving license.

Our Braintree service is commissioned under the Transforming Care Agenda, which aims to support people with learning disabilities and/or autism to move on from hospital environments. We assist people with a range of complex support needs, including mental health, forensic background, and behaviours which may distress/challenge.

We are looking to recruit warm, proactive Support Workers who demonstrate person-centred values and who believe they can empower people with a learning disability to transform their lives. The Braintree service requires flexibility across the week and your working time will involve various shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. A high level of motivation and personal commitment is required, along with demonstrable skills in engaging service users in planning their support. You will be allocated to a tenant’s Core Team based on your compatibility with the individual, taking into consideration personality, shared interests, and wherever possible the individual’s goals and aspirations. You must enjoy good health and be able to carry out all expected care and daily living tasks. You will have a choice of weekly or monthly pay.

This rewarding Relief Support Worker role will require flexibility across the week and your working time will involve working shifts which include evenings, weekends and bank holidays. You will also be expected to work professionally alongside Care Managers and health professionals and to communicate positively with families, carers and friends.
Relevant experience of supporting people with a learning disability or autism is essential as well as a ‘can-do approach’, person-centred values, energy and commitment. You will need good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to develop good quality support plans. You will have a strong work ethic and duty of care and be able to contribute to a positive, team approach. You must enjoy good health and be able to carry out all expected care and daily living tasks.

As a Creative Support Bank Staff member you will have access to our free app which allows you to pick up shifts in any area of the country, provides information on the service and shifts as well as directions. You will be paid on a weekly basis.

We are seeking a highly committed, proactive and professional Registered Service Manager to lead the operational management of a specialist supported living service located in Braintree. The service has been developed to meet the needs of people who have a learning disability and/or autism and complex needs, including mental health needs and behaviours which can challenge.

The service supports 10 people in an attractive new-build supported housing scheme, commissioned as part of the Transforming Care Programme in Essex. The accommodation has been carefully designed to meet the needs of individuals with a range of needs and special requirements. The service is currently rated as Outstanding by CQC.

All tenants (including current residents) need well planned, personalised support to allow them to make a successful transition to supported living and to become more confident and independent. As a number of service users have forensic histories or can present with high risk behaviours, there is a requirement for positive and robust risk management and effective behaviour support strategies.

As the Registered Service Manager you will ensure that the service is of the highest quality, meeting all CQC standards and contract requirements and that this can be demonstrated through comprehensive quality and contract monitoring processes. You will ensure that the service works in a cohesive and coordinated manner and that service users experience fully integrated care, support and housing.

You will ensure that the care and support delivered is truly personalised and provided in accordance with agreed care plans, enabling service users to enjoy wellbeing, quality of life and community connections. You will promote and re-inforce a culture of responsive, person-centered practice and active support across the service, with relationships based on respect and unconditional positive regard. Your rewarding role will include responsibility for:

• Recruitment and selection of staff matched to needs of service users
• Management and deployment of staff to meet the needs of service users
• Ensuring continuous, reliable and consistent service delivery at all times

You must have at least three years prior experience of supporting people with a learning disability and/or autism who have complex needs and at least two years supervisory/management experience. You will also have relevant experience in implementing PBS and positive risk management approaches, founded on the principles of least restrictive practice. You must demonstrate excellent assessment, support planning and report writing skills. Some experience of managing successful transitions from and into services is essential.

You will have a good knowledge of CQC requirements and care standards and experience of auditing services against agreed quality and outcome expectations. You will also have a good knowledge of PBS principles and strategies and legal/good practice frameworks (including MCA, DOLs and MHA) and their application in a supported living setting. An understanding of attachment theory, relational security and psychologically informed environments is desirable. You will have a good knowledge of mental and physical health needs/conditions as the ability to promote holistic health and wellbeing is essential. A relevant professional or practice related qualification (such as social work, nursing or management) is essential.
