Art & Textiles Teacher - West Leicestershire Secondary School

We are working in partnership with an Ofsted 'Good' Secondary school in West Leicestershire who are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Art and Textiles Teacher to start after Christmas. This is a full-time and long-term position with the opportunity of going temp to perm for the right candidate. To be successful, you will be an Art Teacher with recent experience teaching across Key Stage 3 and 4. Experience of teaching Textiles is desirable but not essential.

Job Description

• Delivering engaging and creative Art lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Planning and preparing schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments.
• Monitoring student progress and providing feedback.
• Contributing to the development of the department's curriculum.
• Participating in extracurricular activities such as sports clubs and school trips.

Person Specification

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in art & design or related field
• Recent experience teaching Art and/or Textiles at secondary school level.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members

Art and Design Teacher

You must have relevant experience working with 11 - 16 year olds within the last 2 years and we must be able to obtain relevant references for this time. You should have a professional manner and a flexible attitude to working and timetable changes. Most importantly, you should be enthusiastic, engaging and passionate about working with young people. Strong behaviour management and the ability to implement schools' behaviour polices is also essential. To be successful, you will be a Qualified Teacher (ECT's welcome to apply) and have recent experience of teaching Art and Design across Key Stage 3 and 4.
