As the Human Resources Specialist you will:

• Provide expert staff advice to managers and supervisors throughout the National Gallery on complex employee relations matters, many of which are serious, sensitive, or controversial.
  Serve as technical advisor to National Gallery Representatives and/or the General Counsel's office on any actions which have been through the administrative process and have been pursued in the legal process.
  Provide advice and technical assistance in the handling of disciplinary and adverse actions, performance-based actions, performance improvement plans, and other issues where the primary focus relates to ER; assists management in developing proposal and decision correspondence, ensuring the correspondence is technically correct, consistent with the facts, and likely to be sustained if the decision is appealed and subject to third party review.
• Advise employees on rights and procedural requirements for responding to proposals and for filing complaints, grievances, and appeals.
  Draft, finalize, and process medical letters, adverse actions, performance-based actions, and management responses to grievances, consistent with pertinent laws, rules, regulations, the CBA, and internal National Gallery policies.
• Conducts fact-findings, review, and/or investigations of employee concerns and/or allegations of misconduct consistent with National Gallery policies and procedures. Develop investigation plans, interview witnesses, draft statements, obtain supporting documents, and draft well supported findings and recommendations for management consideration and action.
• Process negotiated grievances, unfair labor practice complaints, and other labor relations activities consistent with the collective bargaining agreement and statutory requirements; review and analyze issues; perform research to identify and development pertinent information; prepare written statements of case and management decision letters.
• Participate in developing, modifying and/or conducting basic and/or refresher training in employee and labor relations policies and procedures in such areas as grievances, disciplinary actions, appeals, and performance management for the National Gallery's managers, supervisors, and other relevant staff.

As the Museum Specialist, you will:

• Incumbent teaches and presents in the museum and in community spaces, using appropriate methodologies, managing group dynamics, and engaging participants.
• The incumbent is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating programs for multigenerational audiences. This includes developing art making workshops, experiences, performances, and demonstrations for adults and families, as well as coordinating aspects of large-scale after-hours events and festivals.
• Knowledge of art history and art education, as well as teaching experience with a wide variety of ages and abilities is key.

As the Supervisory Audiovisual Production Specialist, you will:

• Provides creative leadership and management on assigned filmed projects as part of the Production Studio function at the National Gallery, acting as a senior department leader for creative production best practices. Develops creative production and post-production strategy for assigned projects, including agreeing and owning key performance indicators for setting and meeting production and delivery benchmarks. In line with the Gallery’s strategic priorities, leads the creative production and post-production strategies for assigned video, tv, and film projects,guiding decisions to make the biggest impact with available resources.
• Plans work to be accomplished; sets and adjusts priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work; assigns work based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty, requirements of assignments, and capabilities of employees; develops performance standards; evaluates work performance of subordinates; gives advice, coaching, counsel and/or instructions to employees on both work and administrative matters; interviews candidates for positions, recommends appointments, promotions, or reassignments; hears and resolves complaints from employees, refers group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher level; effects minor disciplinary measures (i.e., warnings and reprimands) and recommends action in more serious cases.
• As directed by Head of Production Studio, leads creative development, execution, and planning for high-quality multimedia content across the whole range of the Gallery’s channels – from short documentaries co-created with artists, immersive documentaries accompanying exhibitions, digital short form video, optimized for social engagement and online channels, and fulllength film and television projects.
• Develops and maintains relationships with a range of external crew, production companies, and freelancers, including supervising, developing, writing, directing, producing, shooting, editing, and post-production, ensuring best-in-class productions while managing performance and handling disputes.

The Telecommunications Specialist will:

• Provides technical support and guidance to telecommunications users, program managers, contractor personnel, and NGA staff. Installs, modifies, repairs, and maintains the NGA’s telecommunications systems, facilities, and services. This also includes voicemail, cabling and wiring, PBX communications servers, IP telephones, digital and analog telephones, trunks, T-1 circuits, ISDN PRI facilities, and inside/outside cable plant locations.
• Activates cellular service for mobile devices. Installs, updates, and maintains iOS for mobile devices. Configures Exchange email for mobile devices and acts as the initial triage for connectivity issues involving email. Troubleshoots all issues involving mobile device systems and services.
• Performs telecommunications help desk functions as required by incident reports or service trouble call requests regarding mobile devices, landline telephones, facsimile machines, and pagers. Operates attendant console to perform telephone operator functions.
• Maintains receipts and electronic database records of department equipment and assets. Document’s locations of telecommunications spaces, resources, and assets using specially developed programs, computer databases, and/or spreadsheets for storage, retrieval, and data manipulation.

As the Museum Specialist you will:

• Coordinates and manages the work processes of the PDE-I by means of work order requests, calendar scheduling and resource management tools. This role coordinates imaging across all studios, organizing photographer and art move schedules to maximize use of space and staff resources. Utilizes the work order management system (IRIS), NetX and TMS to perform the functions of asset discovery, quality assurance and delivery of work orders. Assist with image cataloging as needed. Conducts assignment and scheduling of projects based on institutional priority, space and staff resource availability. Manages client inquiries and expectations. Supports department staff and Department Head in achieving project objectives. Creates and maintains documentation of imaging project lists and assists with developing and executing project plans. Uses the Gallery’s collection management system (TMS) and NetX collections to retrieve information, produce reports and generate object photography lists. Coordinates with departmental staff to ensure accurate capture information is recorded in the Gallery’s digital asset management system (eDAM). Monitors and reports on project status using Wrike and any other relevant software applications.
• Proactively aids the department head with a variety of administrative functions, such as, creating budget reports, imaging statistics, image collections, assist with preparing presentations and Oracle/ dept credit card allocation of payments. Purchasing includes general office and photographic supplies, by means of the DIVS purchase card, as well larger purchases using purchase orders and Oracle. Manages contractor contract payments and work schedules.
• Provides support to photographic staff with the movement of works of art into and out of PDE-I studios to ensure efficient use of time and facilities. Schedules projects in consultation and in collaboration with curators, conservators and Gallery officials, to establish the most appropriate setting or action.

As the Visual Information Specialist you will:

• Makes digital images of two and three-dimensional works of art using direct digital capture. Work is usually performed in a photographic studio, but also occasionally in off-site locations. The incumbent needs to use a variety of digital cameras, lenses and lighting equipment and is expected to apply wide professional knowledge and experience to achieve the highest quality images.
• The incumbent, in consultation with the Production Manager and Head of Imaging, coordinates routine and special imaging projects, provides mentoring, direction, and advises junior imaging staff on the best application of technique, proper use of equipment, and appropriate viewing/lighting conditions for imaging. Supports junior staff to ensure all imaging created across the department aligns with the quality standards set forth by the Head of Imaging Dept.
• Communicates workflow and system inconsistencies to the Head of Imaging and performs basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Schedules and coordinates the testing of Imaging software and photographic equipment with Color Scientist as required to ensure proper quality control. Acts as mentor and partner for select photography staff within PDE-I to deepen their knowledge and experience with advanced Imaging practice and technique. Shares their comprehensive knowledge of and skill in applying photogrammetry and other imaging techniques to works of art. Ability to choose the right lighting equipment, related computer software, imaging/scanning equipment, lens elements, and appropriate filters.
