The projects:
The contractor works across a variety of sectors within the industry which include education, commercial, science & technology, defence with projects ranging from £5-50 million in value.
The role:
As the Design Manager you will be:
- Producing design programmes, design scopes, design responsibility matrices, appointments and schedules.
- Responsible for the management and delivery of design information in line with agreed design programme and deliverable schedule for projects due to commence on site and in progress.
- Ensuring appointed design consultants and engineers carry out their duties in accordance with their appointment.
- Attending and chairing necessary meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Value Engineering to achieve desired outcomes and maximise project profitability.
- Working collaboratively with pre-construction and delivery teams.
- Ensure design is compliant with planning conditions and legislative requirements.
This Design Manager role is ideal for you if you have/are:
- Previous experience in the same or similar role is essential for either a developer, contractor or consultancy.
- Previous experience in both bid and PCSA stages of two-stage tendering procurement processes.
- Sound technical knowledge of design packages and ability to input at key project stages including consultation selection, procurement and project delivery.
- Educated to degree level or HNC/HND in a relevant discipline.
- A background in Architecture are very desirable.
- Experienced working on multiple projects running concurrently with values in excess of £5m would be an advantage but not essential.
