• Responsible for original creation and distribution of digital and print communication design in all required formats in support of the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF), National Capital Region (NCR), and Regional-wide products and campaigns.
• Perform as senior graphic designer and advisor for a multitude of visual communication projects, formats, audiences, and vehicles serving a large world-renowned multi-service Military Medical Center.
• Create and distribute brochures, posters, banners, display ads, teaching booklets, conference manuals, orientation and welcoming kits, media, special and historical commemorative events, and VIP packets and programs.
• Research military icons, symbolism, patient accessible medical language, correct military rank, titles, bios of VIPs, etc. ensuring proper designation. Research paper stock, printing techniques, and processes as necessary with each project.
• Maintain professional level photographic skills, which require the sensitivity to photograph patients and staff while abiding by strict Health information privacy rules and guidelines and acquiring written permission before photographing.
• Professionally manipulate digital photography for intended outcome (web, print, etc.,) reproducing quality photographs in the highest resolution available.
• Familiar with the sensitive cultural and political issues present in a newly formed "Joint Service" Military Medical Center and be able to sensitively communicate visually and equitably needs of a multi-service cultural military environment.
• Incumbent is expected to learn and stay proficient in newest graphic art and photographic equipment and technology.

• Responsible for management, control, coordination and execution of assigned projects, the majority of which involve vertical construction.
• Keeps sponsor/customers informed of project progress, issues, resolution, and any impacts or costs. Assures sponsor or other agencies participation in the project is in accordance with the agreed upon management plan.
• Coordinates the planning, design, cost engineering, construction, and environmental considerations for engineering projects of considerable scope and complexity as measured by their diversity, geographical area, management demands.
• Assures early identification of sponsor/customer problems or issues and facilitates the resolution of identified problems or issues in the most appropriate manner.

The Chief Architect (CA ) will ensure definition of the organization's architecture platform through knowledge of the agency's legacy information technology (IT) platforms, coupled with applied knowledge of advanced information systems architecture, software development techniques, and industry best practices all of which are consistent with agency mission and objectives, applicable laws, regulations, principles, and standards.

The CA provides technical expertise for legacy system design, development, and operations. The CA will ensure an enterprise and inter-agency approach to architecture and integration. The CA will provide policy and governance for architectural and technical direction throughout the systems development lifecycle. The CA will also provide guidance on reference implementations for key technology decisions. The incumbent is responsible for driving the logical data model design, major interfaces design, security model selection and design and hosting/deployment and contingency design of all new systems.

The incumbent will collaborate with the agency's CIO, Deputy CIO, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), program management office, and senior agency officials responsible for budget and procurement/ acquisitions and business partners to communicate SSA's technology, architecture vision and strategy ensuring that agency architecture can support the growing and evolving needs of the enterprise and SSA's growing and diverse constituencies.

Additionally, the CA:

• Defines the overall architecture strategy and vision for the organization, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives. Sets policy, provides governance and oversight, and provides technical expertise in the following areas:

• Oversees the design and implementation of technology solutions, guiding the technical team, and ensuring that the architecture is scalable, secure, and efficient. Through collaboration with various stakeholders, the CA helps to translate complex business needs into sustainable technology strategies.
• Designs and oversees the development of a business data architecture and mapping methodology for enterprise data within programmatic and analytic applications.
• Reviews and approves major architectural designs to ensure compliance with internal standards and the strategic direction of the organization. Communicates architectural decisions, plans, goals, and strategies to agency executives and senior level management.

• Plan and schedule the work of the section.

• Determine Intended Use and scope of Architecture. Collect, Organize, Correlate, and Store Architectural Data. Conduct Analyses in Support of Architecture Objectives and documents results.
• Lead delivers mastery of architectural presentation techniques to effectively convey data to decision makers.
• Translates mastery of Federal law, regulation, and policies to implement JCWA architectures in support of compliant business decisions.

You Have:

• 10+ years of experience with architecting, engineering, integration, or operation of complex information systems in direct support of the Department of Defense (DoD) Combatant Commands, Services, Agencies, Field Activities (CC/S/A/FAs)

• Experience with the implementation of complex solutions involving CSfC Capability Packages for Mobile Access (MA) and Data at Rest (DAR), and CSfC Requirements Annexes, for Continuous Monitoring (CM) and Key Management (KM)

• Experience with technologies and platforms that make up DoD information systems and virtualization servers, including VMware vSphere or vCenter 7+, host operating systems, and Microsoft Windows Server 2016+ or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7+, host applications, and Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, or Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, Storage Area Networks (SANs), transport networks, and core or edge network infrastructure, including Cisco or Juniper routers, switches, firewalls, or Security Information Event Management (SIEM) and management tools that facilitate the troubleshooting of problem behaviors or promote the orchestration and automation of new deployments and recurring administrative tasks

• Experience with project management and scheduling and in the leadership of technically diverse, small- to-medium-sized teams to accomplish successful outcomes of complex engineering efforts

• Experience with the mentorship, training, supervision, and management of junior engineering staff

• Experience with leading or contributing to business capture efforts, including small- to medium-scale proposals and developing business or marketing strategies
