Electronics Design Engineer
Salary: Up to £42K DOE
Day Shift: Mon - Fri 37 hours per week - 8.00am to 4.30pm Mon-Thurs, 8.00am to 1.00pm Fri

This is a fantastic opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic Electonics Design Engineer to be responsible for developing product designs from concept to production to add to our award winning products.
Working within the Engineering team & reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Electronics Design Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of electronic system design, ensuring designs are robust and developed to a high quality and standard. Covering the whole spectrum from concept to production across the entire range of out client's products this role will focus on new product development and include a variety of short and long-term projects.
Key Responsibilities:
New Product Development
Develop robust, reliable and future-proof solutions to support data acquisition and control of new educational products including:
- printed circuit board design, development and validation
- firmware development and validation
- integration with third party controllers, transducers, instrumentation, drives, etc
Current Product and Production Support
- Find solutions to component obsolescence to maintain product continuity and lead times
- Support Customer Services in the resolution of electronics related issues
- Support End-of-line testing and debugging of newly built products & pre-production prototypes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers
Compliance
- Ensure electronic systems comply with electrical safety, EMC, REACH, RoHS regulations, etc
- Effective documentation of designs and firmware including design changes
Essential:
- Electrical/Electronics Engineering degree
- At least five years analogue & digital electronics and low power design experience
- Proficient at electronic circuit design including schematic capture & PCB layout
- Knowledge of microcontrollers, ADCs, DACs & communication interfaces such as I2C, SPI & USB
- Experience of real-time firmware, pref with C++
- Strong problem-solving ability and critical thinking.
- Able to meet deadlines and motivated to deliver to project goals.
- Committed and driven to work to high quality and performance standards.
- Familiar with MRP systems (eg. AXAPTA, SAP)
- Familiar with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for testability (DFT) techniques.
