About The Role




We are looking for an electrical design engineer who can provide expertise to support the engineering team with the design of electrical equipment for a range of industrial applications. This will include electrical best practice and implementation of industry standards. • To support the delivery of all projects from inception to completion in line with the company processes and procedures ensuring client files are continually maintained, design and working drawing packages completed and that the highest standard of design and technical excellence / quality is delivered.
• To carry out works in line with the agreed delivery targets.
• Ensure the resources allocated to the project carry out work, ensuring that both quality of delivery and project profitability are maintained.
• To report against all agreed key performance measures monthly.
• To support client relationships and expectations in order to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
• Support the co-ordination of design and technical teams.
• To continue the development and awareness of architectural knowledge, design quality, technical excellence, new technologies and sustainability.
• To monitor the progress of and ensure the professional development of junior members of staff by providing objective advice through regular one-to-one meetings.
• To ensure accurate and timely completion of all timesheets in order to enable all projects to be delivered within time and cost budgets.
• To carry out Continual Professional Development (cpd) to maintain a professional service and competence in areas relevant to professional work and discharge the requirements of any engagement with commensurate knowledge and attention.

What you'll need to succeed

• Proficiency with Revit.
• Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology or relevant.
• 5 Years post qualification (Desired)
• Member of CIAT (Architectural Technologist, advantageous)
• Chartered member of RIBA (Architect, advantageous)

The role will be working for a well-established business in Leicester, currently they have 12 engineers, and this role ideally will be office based, but will leave an open conversation for some hybrid working if needed. Responsibilities for Electrical Design Engineer
• Look after all the design requirements
• Produce design calculations and production documentation
• You will be responsible to create electrical wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical and corresponding component layouts.
• Take ownership to work in a team and support others by reviewing and approving design information from other team members.
• Experience in using Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to document changes.
• Oversee the CE marking process on new designs including performing DFMEAs.
• Be part of the team and support everyone in research, development, and product testing
• Conduct technical investigations, perform root cause analysis, and initiate corrective actions.


Requirements for the Electrical Design Engineer:
• Electrical design experience, preferably some with machinery design.
• Qualified to degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Knowledge of, and experience of designing in accordance with IEC 60204 and IEC 61439.
• Experience of the product CE marking process and DFMEA.
• A high level of competency with Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical is required.
• A CAD software package such as Autodesk Inventor, Creo, Siemens would be an advantage.
