We are looking for a highly creative and energetic designer to join our Marketing Department reporting directly to the Brand & Studio Manager.
The Midweight Graphic Designer will have excellent design skills and strong people skills, enabling them to provide creative support across the entire business. Projects will be wide and varied, including developing marketing campaigns across print and digital mediums, advertising new events, designing signage, POS, guidebooks and much more. The creative work produced will communicate effectively with our target audiences, be commercially successful, and build on the Longleat brand.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To work with the marketing team at Longleat taking briefs from across the business and delivering high quality, integrated creative campaigns and marketing materials plus signage, guidebooks, brochures etc. that reflect the brand proposition.
To develop projects full circle, from coming up with creative concepts, design development to final artworking. The Midweight Graphic Designer will also support the Brand & Studio Manager in delivering large-scale projects across the business.
To take responsibility for understanding our key visitor profiles, ensuring that all creative work is appropriate for our guests, as well as being on brand.
To liaise with departmental contacts across the business, ensuring excellent execution of our brand across our sites and in print and digital mediums.
To work with the wider marketing team to produce outstanding photographic and video content for use in online campaigns.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
The ideal candidate will need to be an energetic self-starter with experience either agency or client-side, and will enjoy being part of a small, tight-knit team.
The successful candidate will have plenty of ideas, coupled with strong end-to-end design skills, right through to artworking. They will have a solid print-process knowledge, experience designing for digital mediums and a strong eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have a great spirit of collaboration and will be able to demonstrate their experience in a strong portfolio.
We are looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a Graphic Design role.
Extensive experience using Adobe Creative Suite; InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Mac experience is essential along with proficiency in MS office applications.
Great design and visual communications skills, with experience of developing marketing materials across print and digital mediums.
Experience in digital retouching skills/cutting out in Photoshop.
Strong design skills including layout, typography, application of colour and hierarchy of messaging.
Creative flair and excellent ideation skills, developing concepts and communicating them through scamps, mac-visuals and mood boards.
Confident to present ideas to multiple stakeholders at different levels across the Business.
Experience in picture research, finding images that best reflect the essence of the project and brand.
Great eye for detail, maintaining strong and consistent application of the brand across projects.
Ability to understand project briefs, artwork designs, maintaining consistency of brand elements and performing final checks before projects are sent to print or build.
Ideally you will also have:
A love of visitor attractions, heritage sites and/or animal based attractions would be very useful.
Experience of communicating to varied target audiences.
Skills in storyboarding and animation would be a bonus.
Experience in HTML5

Your contract
You will be on a 37.5 hour contract, Monday – Friday.
