This position involves providing individualised person centred care and support to adults with mental health needs living in supported housing. You will be responsible for promoting emotional wellbeing and independence, encouraging the people we support to enjoy a fulfilling and valued life.
Waking Night Support Worker Duties:
• Develop and sustain warm and trusting relationships with service users
• Promote the self-esteem, happiness and emotional health of service users, encouraging and supporting them to express their needs, views and concerns
• Provide respectful personal care in accordance with the needs, wishes and preferred routines outlined in the individual’s personal support plans
Experience is desirable for this role, but it is not essential as full training will be provided. One of our tenants has a beloved cat, so applicants need to be able to work in this environment. A driver’s license is also desirable. Shifts patterns will vary from 21:45 – 08:45 and 22:00 – 8:00.

We seek warm, professional support workers to work for our Manchester LD Outreach Pilot service.

Successful candidates will provide flexible, personalised support to people with learning disability and autism support needs to enable them to develop the skills to lead independent lives, promote their quality of life and personal development.

You will engage with service users who receive support from our Manchester Learning Disabilities outreach service, building trusting therapeutic relationships, working to encourage a positive life outlook and coping skills. Your role as outreach support worker will include visiting service users in their own homes or in other settings as part of a structured approach. You will work closely with other professionals and agencies to provide a co-ordinated service which meets the identified needs of the individuals.

A full, clean driving licence and access to a car is essential for this role.

Our service operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year and you will be expected to work on a rota system undertaking shift work as required. Evening and weekend work is expected.
