• You will provide timely, professional architectural products, services, and consultation for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of facilities for the Navy, Marine Corps, and other Supported Commands.
• You will lead multidisciplinary in-house design teams in providing architectural design work products and services within milestones and quality standards.
• You will coordinate architectural design with engineering disciplines for Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build projects.
• You will execute design and analyses, utilizing advanced architectural software.
• You will exhibit proficiency in the Whole Building Design Guide (WBGD), current version of AutoCAD, architectural design/analysis software, and Specs Intact, utilized for the completion of the design drawings and specifications.
• You will provide post construction award services to include review and approval of contractor submittals.

This position is located within the Division of Facility Management at Everglades National Park and is duty stationed at park headquarters in Homestead Florida. The Supervisory Interdisciplinary (Branch Chief Design and Construction) is responsible for, and has authority to, initiate, establish, guide, and control a broad range of project planning, design and construction efforts from inception through completion.

• Supervises an interdisciplinary staff of professional designers (engineers/architects/landscape architects) and project managers to accomplish this work within Everglades and Dry Tortugas National Parks.
• Reviews and manages the Facility Management Division's annual operating budget and project budgets, adjusting account allocations over time throughout the fiscal year. Accommodates provisions for adequate staffing, completion of routine administrative work, purchase of supplies and materials, employee training and travel, AE management, and execution of specially funded projects within respective operating funds and project budgets.
• Serves as the park's Facility Management Division lead contracting officer's representative (COR). Requests funding clearance for contract modifications from WASO/Region or other authority as appropriate. Coordinates review of submittals and word of on-sight inspector, Oversees project closure (closeout: post occupancy, warranty review, as built).
• Leads and manages the park's environmental management system and maintains up to date, accurate records of the park's environmental liabilities.
• Responsible for the on-the-job safety and health of all employees supervised. Initiates efforts conforming to established local and bureau safety programs to satisfy this responsibility.

• Serves as the Fire Management Officer Directing all phases of the assigned fire program unit to include fire management planning, aviation management, training and workforce planning, fire preparedness, fuels management and fire prevention, dispatching, suppression, post-suppression, and all hazard and emergency response activities.
• Performs/supervises administrative program management functions such as planning; budget formulation and execution; stewardship of physical facilities, equipment, vehicles, and accountable property; development and implementation of training and development programs; and implementation of cooperative agreements.
• Facilitates fire management planning activities; and develops local/annual operating plans and provides staff technical direction in the execution of master plans.
• Collaborates with unit/tribal leadership while also serving on and representing the units and BIA on various interagency teams, and work groups dealing with specific local, geographic, or national fire management issues.
• Works with a variety of complex technical problems relating to fire weather, smoke management, fire behavior, and computer fire modeling.
• Makes periodic inspections of the fire management organization and operations for compliance with approved plans, rules, regulations, and standards to ensure that an adequate and effective fire management force is being maintained.
• Establishes priorities for fire hazard reduction, prescribed burns and fuels management based on minimizing potential damage and maximizing multiple resource benefit and enhancement.
• Ensures the fuels management program is consistent with ecosystem management principles and land use plans.
• Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work; and evaluates work performance of employees.

• You will review construction project parameters (e.g., integration, scope, time, cost, quality, communication, procurement, risk management) to recommend changes that will improve the overall project results.

• You will monitor financial obligations (e.g., cost planning, program budgeting, financial related management) to ensure fund expenditures adhere to budgetary policies.
